Yes it is plate related, not body weight related. It is an absolute scale of lifting, not relative. A DYEL-looking guy could do the 1/2/3/4 bodyweight lifts, but not exactly the 1/2/3/4 plates.

My lower body is weak I guess. I'm running a modded version of Texas Method at the moment so hopefully I'll hit 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 in a year or so. My Deadlift is pretty much halted as I'm coming from an Oly background years ago and just am learning how to pull conventionally but I'm still making good progress on my Bench and Squat. Tried switching to lowbar Squat and felt weird. OHP is just an accessory now too. I don't feel bad as I guess I'm further than most people here but disappointed that I fall short of the 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 standard by 0.2 on the Deadlift and miss a 1000lb total by a few pounds.

I suspect you didn't do your math there. If 1/2/3/4 meant bodyweight, it'd be much harder. Especially the deadlift. 4x bw deadlift is elite level powerlifter performance.
