Does anyone on /fit/ fight / do any sort of fighting sport?
If so:
>what fighting do you do? (boxing/karate/MMA/drunken fighting in the street)
>how long have you been doing it?
>how did you get into it?
>do you think it has improved your life?
No, play a team sport.
3 years wrestling
3 years jui jitsu
3 years Krav Maga
3 years kick boxing
kick boxing and juijitsu were done at the same time
krav and wrestling were done at the same time
I have a 1350 total @ 165lbs

forgot to answer questions
>how did you get into it?
Societal pressure of masculinity; was abused as a child and wanted to kick my dads ass - eventually did and caused brain damage to him
>do you think it has improved your life?
I can walk around peacefully and know I can handle a situation with another man, most of what I learned in Krav was how to desescalate a fight or simply harm someone minimally to ensure I can run away.
Bar fights have more than 2 people fighting, remember this

What i wish i could be at 22. Hopefully i can at 28 i guess
>>39054889
I'm a slav myself, just making sure others don't think we are white.

>>39054736
Slavs are truly the European equivalent of niggers
>>39054906
What did you go to prison for?
How long?
>>39055406
>1 year in maximum security
>wrongfully convicted of kidnapping, assault and deprivation of liberty
>was innocent
>walked free on the court date
mfw entitled to $150k compensation, but would have to sue the state to get it
mfw if I lost against the state, would have to pay $80k, to the state
>fuck it, i'm a free man
>its a good training camp at least, i got stwong
>>39054736
4 years tang soo do (Korean karate)
2 years MMA
2 years Krav Maga
Personally preferred MMA, best for overall fitness. Krav Maga is effective, but a little out of proportion for a regular street fight. Tang Soo Do was awesome, moderately effective but most importantly it thought me the value of strength, endurance and respect.
>>39055475
Wrongfully convicted as in they got the wrong guy? And you did nothing?
Or you did do something but not what they convicted you for?
>>39054932
>didnt want to register hands
Is this 1980's myth still going?
>>39054736
I often shove and fight angry manlets when I'm out drinking and clubbing
>>39055615
it shouldnt be - have punched the shit out of kyokushin guys
krotty is a fucking meme
>>39055615
You do have to register your hands as potentially lethal weapons. But that's only if you're a boxer and in some states.
>>39054736
17 years self defense style jiu jitsu. Got dragged into it as a kid. It guaranteed has improved my life, self esteem and would be full neck beard without a sport.
>>39055683
>You do have to register your hands as potentially lethal weapons
But that's not true, Anonymous shitposter.

>believing 4chan stories

>what fighting do you do?
No-Gi BJJ / Muay Thai/ MMA
>how long have you been doing it?
Started muay thai when i was 141 (i'm 19 now.)
>how did you get into it?
I didnt want to become a cuck
Started with karate when i was young, switched to muay thai around 16 years old because everyone in my friend circle did it back then. Got bored of it after 3 years and quit.
Picked up competition aikido around 20 years old and been doing that for 12 years now. Started with bjj aswell last year to learn new stuff. Doing both competative at the moment.

not sure if there any gains, but it sure fun as fuck.
Used to do karate for a few years. It sucks, get into a real fighting sport guys.
>>39055883
>when I was 141
Jesus Christ, calm down there Kaku Kaioh
>>39054736
Boxed for 6 years, did Muay Thai for a year, Capoeira since i was a child. Competitive running since last year.
Capoeira gave me mad core strength. 87kg 6'1.
>>39058642
and as for the questions
>how did you get into it?
capoeira is because mums from brazil and thought it'd be good for my fitness as a growing young man. Boxing because I realised I couldn't fight when I was 15 and decided to change that. Muay thai because i realised i needed to learn to kick and defend legs.
>do you think it has improved your life?
Absolutely, I'm more confident when dealing with people, calmer because I'm not afraid and fitter, so the ladies are easier to get to know.
>what fighting do you do?
(boxing/karate/MMA/drunken fighting in the street)
I did muay thai and Sambo for a year. Sadly, they had to shut down for a while. They might start up again in January, but depending on where they moved I might not come back.
>how long have you been doing it?
One year.
>how did you get into it?
Depressed as shit, so I decided to join something I thought I would enjoy.
>do you think it has improved your life?
It improved my cardio greatly. I had so much endurance that I could run up the mountain on hikes for quite a bit. Sadly exercise does not help that much with my depression. That shit is on an existential level
If I do get into a new art, what does /fit/ think about Sanda? It has strikes and take downs implemented so it seems legit.

Did tkd, a couple years mma, a little judo and currently doing an mma-ified full contact karate (kudo)
14 years, 2 years, 8 months~ respectively
Older friend of the family did tkd
Absolutely, far more disciplined.
>>39055683
That has literally never been the case. It was a press stunt leading up to a title fight for, if memory serves, Hagler.
>>39056082
>competitive aikido
Is that the one where they fail to disarm a guy wielding a dildo?
>>39058487
>does krabby magoo
>tells people to get into a real fighting sport
The delusion is real
Judoka brown belt checking in. Grappling tournaments are fun. Yes it has improved me as a person.
>>39060711
I really want to do judo properly did a bit here and there before i moved to japan but, outside of kodokan, it's actually really hard to find here.
