They're in their early forties, are natty, have families, both have to focus on their business, are more into bodybuilding than strength gains, still have to maintain all aspects of health since they're at an age where they're at risk for colonic cancer and heart disease, meaning not taking supps that cause high blood pressure and doing more cardio etc.

As far as I heard the risk of injury isn't worth it to them.

225lb is still fairly strong and they don't have to go crazy in the gym to maintain it.

Yeah, but gloves tend to weaken your grip/compensate long-term, I used to use gloves but I ditched them, plus they only last a couple months depending on how much you lift, so they end up being a waste of money.

I don't think you've understood what gloves do when people say "they weaken your grip". By that quote they mean they make the bar thicker, making it harder to grip, not weakening your grip strenght, heck, they actually require your grip to be stronger than without gloves because of it. That's why most people doing super heavy deadlifts don't use them, it's so they can actually lift the weight up by not adding extra resistance and making the lift easier by not making gripping the bar harder.
