Wood worker reporting in, splitting fire wood and woodworking are two vastly different things. Hell, if I break a sweat in my shop I'm doing something wrong.

Also, every man on /fit needs buy a splitting maul and a truck load of unsplit wood. I got 14 truckloads for free this spring, spent all summer splitting it, and now have the back of a god, AND sell a bundle of 10 little pieces for $8. Monetary and muscular gains everywhere.

You realize that unsplit wood is cheaper than split wood because basic economics right? Yes I got mine free, but there is still room to make money because you are splitting the wood. It might not be much, but any money you make is good because you aren't splitting for money, but for a work out.
