Why is there such a lack of famous intellectuals or artists who lift?

Lifting is a relatively new thing. I assume a lot of intellectuals do exercise in some way.

excellence in field requires an obsessive level of dedication and time investment which usually does not allow a person to pursue other fields.
>tfw there's no Neil "Ass deGrasse" Tyson figures to emulate
Tons of smart people work out in some way. In fact, I'd say some sort of exercise on a regular basis is almost necessary to keep their heads clear. Most just don't lift. I'd say regular walks are more of the "intellectuals workout"
I don't think there is. Do you mean ones that are "fucking ripped" and advertise it? I'm sure there are a lot of rock stars who do that, if that counts as being an artist.
Like others said, lifting and modern exercising is pretty new. And a lot do in a different form tan just lifting. I know a lot of my physics professors go to the rec center and some swim, some go on a run etc.

A jack of all trades is a master of none.
Maybe they lift but aren't as obsessive about is as this board is?

Small percentage of general population lift.
Small percentage of intellectuals lift.
Those that do are too busy pursuit new discoveries in their field to spend time on 4chan making your ass feel better for being self proclaimed obese intellectual
