Do you ever stretch or is it just a meme?
>>39003285
Every day if i can
>>39003306
what's the benifit?
>>39003285
I do but it has absolutely no effect whatsoever.
I think it's probably because I spent 80% of my day sitting so no amount of stretching can fix that.
Sucks though, I have a really bad case of APT and horrible mobility and I would like to fix both.
>>39003321
Does APT make you shorter? Also there's a video by Jeff Cavaliere on how to fix APT
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-CrEi0ymMg
i dont
it's mostly a meme unless you do oly lifting or some other sport that requires flexibility beyond normal
Yes. If I don't stretch I can't throw decent kicks.
>>39003285
I stretch my hamstrings because they're really short and it affects my diddly/rows/squat
>>39003346
It does by a very small amount.
That video is all very basic knowledge. Stretching alone, and I can confirm, will get you absolutely nowhere.
I've started going to the gym only a month ago, focusing mostly on deadlifts, hamstring curls and such (posterior chain work).
Got my deadlift to 100kg.
I'm gonna go at it for some time. Hopefully there will be some posture progress in at least half a year.
>>39003285
I dont stretch as much as i need to
but when i have time i like to spend about 30 min each morning stretching before breakfast
if I can keep that up for a week i notice big differences in improved recovery and mobility requiering less warm up time before working out
one off sessions dont really help much it needs to be consistent for me to notice a difference
>>39003285
I use bands. Pretty much the greatest thing to stretching.
It's so easy to gain flexibility especially in the shoulder, back and hamstring using bands.
>>39003311
Increased mobility and it increases metabolic damage
Plus it feels enjoyable
>>39003380
>Stretching alone, and I can confirm, will get you absolutely nowhere.
>Got my deadlift to 100kg.
maybe you should actually lift instead of giving out advice
>>39003321
99.9999% of people with apt stretch their hip flexors wrong
I fixed my apt with stretching and nothing else
Takes under 2 weeks of PROPER stretching
Before that I stretched for months and months to no avail
>>39003596
I literally said I started gym 1 month ago smartass.
>>39003605
How PLS. I will suck your dick if you help me.
>>39003613
Maximize your posterior pelvic tilt during the stretch. This should mean you cannot stretch nearly as far. That is fine, because if your pelvis isnt tilted posteriorly, you aren't even targeting the hip flexors with your stretch
>>39003311
How else will you do all the crazy positions chad wants you in?
>>39003644
What the actual fuck is that pic?

#JustGirlyThings.
>>39003677
This shit is fucking bizarre mate stop posting them
>>39003686
that's all I have don't worry.
>>39003707
Ok... i hope so. You're one weird fucker
>>39003631
>Maximize your posterior pelvic tilt
But I can only do it so much.
You are referring to a standard kneeling lunge stretch when doing this, yes?
Is there a best way to get most out of your posterior tilt?

This is how all 4chan girls are deep down y'know.

>someone bothered making all of these
>>39003285
i stretch the muscles i used during the session just because it feels really good. i'm sure it has health benefits too but its pleasurable in the moment which is why i'm always sure to do it.
>>39003644
What would be an efficient way of sectioning lifting goals into pretty princess points? I feel like this would really motivate me as I like the idea of being a pretty princess
>>39003285
I do mobility work and PNF stretching every other day
>>39003285
If I don't stretch dynamically before my workout, all my muscles hurt like fuck afterwards.
Is this supposed to be normal?
>>39004036
Depends on your goals, anon.
>>39004169
Yes. This is normal.
>>39003285
Dynamic stretching shouldn't be needed if you do a 5 min warm up (you should) like 5 min. treadmill and some core bodyweight (like, a couple of planks)
Static stretching after workout is ESSENTIAL if you don't want to fall for le foam roller meme (utterly USELESS and it intervenes TOO LATE)
I've added some plyometrics (like, 1 exercise) and core resistance after static stretching (e.g. Y's, I's, T's and W's) and I've noticed sensible increments in functional strength
if iv never stretched before any of my workouts should I start or just keep doing what iv been doing?

Did Jeff lie to us? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-CrEi0ymMg Tbqh I've found the suggestion to lean forward somewhat counter intuitive.
>>39003285
I don't feel like stretching does anything for me so i would rather not waste time i could be lifting by rolling around on the mats.
I try to do it every day.

is my inspiration.
>>39003285
No, I can't since my hamstrings tear if I stretch.
