10/10 workout if you do it right, work up to a full standing rollout.
If you do the same number from your knees over and over with no increase in resistance it does nothing
>>
>>38952303
They're overoll a good workout to add to your routine.
>>
>>38952303
want a strong lower back to do them right, make sure you keep you back perfectly straight otherwise it does fuck all
>>
>>38952340
How can you progress to standing?
>>
They really get my workout rolling off to a good start

Gave me a mild hernia.

By getting stronger.

Keep at them, add a backpack of books if you must, but after consistently doing sets of 30 I moved on to standing
>>
>>38952552
I think his question was how can you literally stand and use the wheel.

I get to work pretty quick but sometimes cars cant see me easily
>>
Pro boxers use them. And They know a about abs workout
>>
Been training for 4 years 2/3.5/4.5/5.25 respectively and picked up an ab wheel last week while in an empty gym at 3am

Tried to roll out once, collapsed immediately. I weigh 93kg at around 16%, 5'11

So yeah, if you can use these fucking things then your core is probably really fucking stable in dynamic movement, really humbled me and reinforced what I already knew about my mostly worthless static strength
>>
I love them.

I've read that for progression to standing it's better to use a ramp than rolling in to a corner, that way you still get full ROM. Have never found an appropriate ramp though.

I've never tried adding weight but have just been doing kneeling 3x15 for a while now ... maybe I'll try doing some kneeling sets weighted and then some corner rollouts as a finisher.

Sometimes I feel the stress in my elbows and armpits too much, then I need to remind myself to concentrate on my ab contraction.
>>
>>38953943
You just need to use it a couple of times.
First time I couldn't roll all the way out, couple of days later I did 3 full reps, then 5, 10 and 15 soon enough.

Your problem is you're pushing forward with your upper body instead of dropping your hips into it, I used to do the same, makes them more or less useless.

that first laugh of the day
>>
>>38952533
wait, what? how? bad form?
>>
They're a great ab exercise, do L sits too

Underrated as hell
>>
>>38957108
Planks are incredibly inferior to ab wheel.
>>
>>38957155
Ok ok, why not just use your dumbbell?
>>
>>38957194
Using dumbbells are fine, but can be a bit awkward. Using a barbell is a nice way to make it harder.
>>
Ab rollers and planks are the real deal for ab workouts
>>
>>38952644
You bend over
>>
Ab wheels are fucking awesome, it's kinda sad how people don't seem to use them that often. For some reason they top off my abs, they always feel rock hard weeks after using it.
>>
>>38957881
My guess is that people don't use them because it feels like cancer if you haven't done it in a while, which leads to skipping it and so on.
