I lift better and feel better if I lift after eating fruit/veggies than after eating potato/wheat. I guess its subjective.
Definitely high glycemic afterwards though, or you won't have enough energy to synthesize all your protein into muscle.

Really? C4 is my go to pre workout, it hasn't made me crazy tingly like i've heard others do. and it gives me just enough energy to get through the workout. I mainly use it when i haven't eaten any good meals that day.
