No I knew nothing about training when I started. Brosplit doesn't have enough frequency. You need to work the muscle at least twice a week. I suggest you do PPLX if you have the time to work out 5-6 times a week but I do upper lower because I'm a full time engineering student working 30 hours a week. I do not suggest doing full body either. You won't be able to do enough volume without your workouts going for 3 hours.

Heres my typical workouts
Upper day
Bench/OHP 5x3-6
Lat pulldown 4x8-12
OHP/Bench 4x8-12
Any Row (I like cable) 4x8-12
Straight bar curl 5x3-12
Chest isolation 3x12
Shoulder isolation 3x12
Face pulls if I have time

Lower
Squats 6x3-6
Pause squats 3x3
Romanians 4x8-10
Leg extensions 3x8-10

People argue and fight over SS vs SL vs Reg Parks vs Greyskull, but in reality consistency and diet over a long period like you executed is what gets results. I know a lot of guys that constantly try to "optimize" their routines but aren't consistent with their diet, training, or recovery or get discouraged easily and then blame it on their choice of routine.
