Hey /fit/, I started running a couple weeks ago, and I can tell that I've gotten weaker on leg days because of it.
The amount I squat and deadlift hasn't decreased by THAT much, about 20 lbs, but I'm more fatigued between sets and after the workout, so continued progress serms like it's going to be hard.
Right now I lift legs twice a week and run twice a week, always the day after legs. I'd like to eventually be running as many as five times a week.
Has anyone on /fit/ managed to balance high volume running with leg days? Will I eventually build up my work capacity so it won't be a problem? I really want the best of both worlds.

Might be period of adaptation as you move from being a gain banger towards actual human level fitness. Try some two-a-days, leg day in the morning and run in the evening. Sometimes you get super running powers.
I lift for performance enhancement--sports, hiking, running--and don't lift just to....lift more?
Make the transition.
(But to answer your question, I usually see a modest, albeit temporary, loss in all my lifts--not just legs--after a big day, like climbing a 14er or running over 20 miles. Anyone know why? But my ability to run and play and hike and climb is always insanely improved by lifting. )
didn't know spongebob had dem quads
yeah. i run every single day of the week. sometimes, on rough leg days, i can only run 3 miles after my leg day, but i can still do it.
you'll get used to it.
Distance running is a quad dominant activity that triggers your type 1 muscle fibers. You're just tired in a different way so your squat is down. You dl hasn't changed because your posterior chain is unaffected by running

God-tier advise: at first, run only once perweek but try hiking 4-5 times/week. Will stay fresh. Make vast improvements, and avoid injury. This holds true up to 100km runs. After that, gotta run more.

Doesn't running fuck up your joints?

Only if your form/shoes suck

Seems obvious but make sure you are eating and sleeping enough.
Also, how do you run without lifting your legs?

How much are you overweight? Or how nuch muscle mass do you have compared to your normal joe?
Youbmight want to shed some of it down before runinng.
Work on yor form, have good shoes.
Walk till you can jog, jog till you can, run, run till you can do 10 km on daily basis. More than that is not needed.
