Do rowing machines really help or is it a pointless exercise?
If you want to get better at rowing or do an alternative form of cardio, then yes.
Otherwise, no. Get a second opinion I'm not a professional

It's good, low impact cardio

It's good if you need a break from running, especially if you have a bad knee or ankle or something.
However, you have to actually be pushing yourself. A leisure row is basically the same thing as putting the elliptical setting on minimum and cracking open a book for an hour. It won't do shit.

God tier warm up
It is a good warm up that warms most of your muscles, not recommended though if you have already been sitting the whole day.

OP, ergs are god tier if you know how to use it. look up good form, do a variety of intensities and durations, and make sure to supplement extra chest work since that is the only major muscle group that isn't as well exercised as the others

It's much more leg heavy than people think. Gets the heart rate up real high and makes you sweat. Works your legs and lower back. What's not to like?
