you are doing it wrong.

are you maintaining maximal or near maximal posterior tilt when you stretch them?

if not, you are stretching your quads, not your hip flexors.

99% of people do this wrong when they do that stretch.

keep the posterior tilt, even though it means you won't stretch nearly as far.

Yoga. I'm serious. Nothing improves posture and flexibility better than yoga. I have a copy of the Yoga-X routine from P90X - It's an awesome workout, and after a few weeks of it you'll be amazed at what you can do.
