Mike T talks a lot about what he calls restoration blocks. Low intensity, low specificity and slightly higher volume blocks where the comp lifts are gotten away from and you do bodybuilding work to a) let nagging injuries heal and b) re-sensitize yourself to heavy sport specific training

That's not necessary, do you disagree with what the chart says? As you add volume you get stronger but at a slower rate. The point is the text: Is it true that if you just do super high volume programs like Sheiko, you will get stronger short term but theen you won't be able to get any more gains without doing even more volume so you get less total gains. This makes absolutely no sensee, but this is a serious source referencing practical programing 3e as its source. This makes no sense, absolutely no sense, but judging by it Sheiko should only be run late late late so you don't short-circuit your ability to get stronger.

Now let's say the 5'10 has nearly his natural limit of muscle, but he is so lean that he manages to squeeze into the 74kg weight class

In the end, one of Izzy's final videos was actually pretty correct. Programming is really intellectual masturbation, and exists more to keep you focused and avoid fuckingarounditis.

You lift more, you get stronger. It sounds so vague and vacuous, but its true.The tan argument is so true. A pasty white person who goes to the tanning bed for 5 minutes will burn, while someone who is more tan will do it longer, but it in the end the tannest person will be the person who tanned the most.

The best lifters on the planet could not show you their program if you asked for it, neither could their coaches, because they don't have one. They just kind of lift.
