I've been diagnosed with PTSD and several times a week I wake up 2-3 times a night for about 20-30 minutes before I can go back to sleep. Will this affect my gains terribly?
inb4 triggered, sjws etc

any other /fit/izens with sleep disorders? how will this affect my gainz?
>>38842128
probably strong broscience, but someone told me the important thing is to get REM sleep which occurs every 90 minutes you're asleep. if you're getting REM sleep at least 4 times (3 hours of sleep twice) you might be ok.

What was the trauma?

Not op but I don't think laying in bed for 3 hours straight without technology not being able to go to bed is internet addiction and not real insomnia

I have narcolepsy. I wake up about six times a night on average, sometimes more.
Take about 45 mins to fall back asleep, as well.
That said, your gains with that amount of interruption shouldn't be too much a hindrance on your gains unless you just somehow get narcolepsy, in which case you'd live in a constant state of sleep deprivation for the rest of your life, since it can't be cured and only "treated."
Best of luck to your gains OP

same situation, OP.
Going on a cut is ok but you won't be able to bulk very well.
Try EMDR therapy. It's what I'm doing right now for my sleep.
Go camping too! :) Good luck, OP.
Oh fuck man.
First off, I haven't read the other comments, but I came here years ago with this exact question.
Get on some alpha blockers like prazosin or clonodine, that'll stop the adrenaline when you sleep.
It will fuck your world.
Look up MAPS ptsd mdma therapy.
Then download TOR and go order some MDMA. Saved my life.
Have you tried taking melatonin OP? Good for maintaining continuous sleep

I have this thing where I seem to wake up at 4:30 -5:30 every morning for no real reason. Is this an actual condition or am I just retarded or something?
The body is highly adaptable. As long as you're getting 6+ of sleep and long enough periods for rem-sleep, you should be fine.
Rem-sleep is not required for gains. The body only needs rest (i.e. not doing heavy shit) and a bit of sleep for hormone balance.
Lack of REM-sleep will however mess with your energy, nervous system and mental health, which can indirectly lower gains. But you should be fine. Your rem-cycle has adapted to your 2-3h times 3.

Yes. Your rem cycle will be affected and you will have low test and high cortisol. Possibly higher blood pressure as well
