Hey /fit/,
I've looked around the different options in my area for gyms and I was wondering your input on what I should look for in deciding on a gym.
Multiple power racks and DBs that go up to at least 100

actual round plates
not that octogonal crap
How much should I care about cleanliness? How dirty or unhygienic is crossing the line?

not important

>new gyms opening around my area
>all of them are meme machines only and dumbbels go up only to 10kg
The one i go to is "ok" for barbels and dumbbels but i can't even squat because they only have smith machine, not to mention deadlifts
i just want a old school 24h gym

>DBs that go up to at least 100
You mean 100lbs, right?
>>38836884
>only gyms that don't require a 30~ minute commute near me are owned by one chain
>actively fight against competition so they can continue charging a bomb
>across 4 gyms I have seen ONE power rack
I think I just want a home gym desu
My personal hierarchy
1.multiple power racks
2.circular plates
3. Decent cable assembly
4.Bitches

>circular plates
What are these? The plates at my gym are all square, it makes storage a lot easier

If there truly square (which I've never seen before) I don't think it's that big of a problem. The issue with like hexagonal or dodecagonal plates is that the little spin a plate gets when you deadlift fucks up the positioning when you lower the weight, and the bar either rolls towards or away from you.

>multiple power racks
>multiple benches
>lots of weights
>open space
>good ventilation
last on is underrated tbqh. it absolutely sucks working out in a space with bad air quality.
