I want to learn TSOP so bad. Have started with Flesh and have it pretty much down (except cba Hamm's solo part and it's difficult figuring out Chuck's part in the intro just before his bridge or what it's called).
I really regret not puttnig more effort into my guitar classes way back when. Would probably be more like you now if I did, but I was too narrow minded/childish/stubborn. Been thinking of just memorizing some of the scales and learn to meander, but it's slow going. Have any tips on getting better?

and as for learning the scales, that's a good step but I think it's better to learn theory at a deeper level and know how to construct scales, why they are how they are, etc etc. r/musictheory has a very good sidebar of resources on theory.

learning where the notes are on the guitar and learning theory are good starters, as for actually gitting gud, it's pretty much all down to practice. it takes a fuckton of time noodling and practicing if you aren't a musicial talentcuck.

It can, provided that increased ROM effects what you're trying to improve, but its not a universal thing. Plenty of people do very heavy/short ROM movements as a supplementary exercise. They just aren't usually all that useful by themselves when you're competing in a sport that requires you to break parallel on your squats.

Not sure I get it, I've seen at least 5-8 trips on here post squat webms, get the 50 >NO DEPTH responses, and go "eh whatever, it's just training, I'll hit depth in the comp," and have others agree with them. I've seen world class PLers do this on Instagram.

Usually those are max-ish singles. They're more about feeling weight and getting used to it than directly building strength. They're also usually close enough to depth that its reasonable to take that weight deep enough to get white lights.

The volume work? That'll hit depth most of the time.

Nah, the study didn't prove much, their only test group was novice lifters. Experience says there's plenty of benefit to be had from extending ROM, but I - who am (?) just now entering the conversation - would still say include comp style lifts almost all of the time. Do some accessory work after for a longer ROM.

You can get away with switching from high bar to low bar with pretty minimal effort, but bench I think it's worth it to keep your pecs/delts/cuffs conditioned to a wide bench grip.

Because that super-wide grip has a marked tendency to tear the shit our of your shoulders if you don't have a good arch and it often means having shitty leverage at the bottom of the lift (general rule: wider grip = lower sticking point) so if you can't find a way to avoid that problem at the bottom you can end up benching less despite the shorter ROM.

Also big guys tend to have long arms and long arms often means issues with shoulder joint stress in the bench. Bringing in the grip is a method of protecting the joint in a lot of cases.

Older. This is from when he first started doing online coaching. It's a four day upper/lower for general strength or offseason use. You pretty much just do a ton of submax doubles or triples on the main lift (80-85% of a gym max, depending on the week), some more on a variant of the other main lift (like deficit deads or whatever on squat day) and then bro out on a ton of assistance.

A commonly held belief is that the hamstrings are tight so when you go into the bottom range of a squat they resist letting the pelvis glide back naturally, and as a result wind up pulling it forward as you descend into the movement. Well it's going to be partly genetic and partly to do with how fat/big you might be. For any given person, there's only so far you can close your hips with your thighs straight. After that any further hip closing will be done by the back.

Now ways to solve this are
1) Pushing your thighs outwards further. This may mean using a wider stance and correspondingly stretching and strengthening the adductors and glutes.
2) squatting with knees furter forward and closing the hips less overall

1) is generally better but you can do one or both

I'm not the anon who posted that, but I'll explain just what the hell is going on.

There's this thing called an 'iframe'. When you load a web-page an i-frame is like another web-page inside a web-page. For example I could go to google and in a small box they load a page from twitter.

In this case, a page from /v/ is being loaded. In the thread from /v/ there was some shitty java script to run a gif Mario across the top of the screen, which is apparently loaded along with the iframe.

Some websites actually load iframes of size 0 with adverts inside of them, sometimes even malicious content. Gotta be on the look out for those cheeky iframes (but you can't see most of them anyway).

tl;dr - iframe loaded the page inside your current page and the javascript to make Mario run across the top was loaded within the iframe, which then caused him to run across the actual page.

I'm actually worried lads.

I don't know if I'll be able to pull 4 plates again. 150 feels heavy as fuck still, meanwhile supra maximal pin squats feel smooth as butter.

I don't know what to do at this point, if sumo doesn't workout, I may forever be stuck with a sub 200 deadlift. At that point I'll probably quit the game and stop deadlifting altogether.
