Should I buy my own weights and a squat rack (I'd set the safeties so I could use it on my own as a bench press) or get a gun membership? I'm not opposed to either but I wanna know I'm making the best decision. On one hand if I get my own weights i could go back to my old mma gun but on the other hand I have a hard time getting myself to go there after one of my acquaintances caused a bunch of drama there. Getting a regular gym membership would also give me access to folks who could ensure my form was right.

Anyway, pic related is my motivation for tonight's workout which was 30 min on my heavy bag, stretching, then 30 min of push-ups, pullups, calf raises, and sit-ups.

My pull ups are shit, can barely hammer out two for my max. Will train that more. Push-ups aren't great at a 21 max.

I wonder if my pull up bar is putting me in a bad position? With a straight bar i can normally do pullups fine (not high reps but they are a ay easier to do and "feel right") but this one my form just feels like I'm at a huge mechanical disadvantage. Thoughts?

Final question: is suspension training any good? I didn't wanna spend $200 on a text so I sewed my own and the I just didn't feel like k was getting a better workout, but that may be due to not knowing how to use suspension straps right.

Seeing as it might be a while before I get the home gym due to funds what calisthenics should I do in the main time? I've decided to use a resistance band to assist my pull ups as I think I've just never properly worked my lats when doing pull ups, as well as my leg raises (where I'm hanging and lifting my legs), and dips. My pushup form isn't too bad but needs minor tweaking. What should I do for my legs while doing calisthenics? Stair runs and squats and calf raises are all I've got so far.

It's impossible to not work your lats while doing pullups. Do you think you can curl your entire bodyweight?

I didn't say I hadn't worked them, just that I had removed a large amount of stress from them by doing my pull ups wrong, which is why I can't do proper pullups on the current bar.
