High blood pressure is no joke. Too many people in my family died from cardiovascular issues so the moment I noticed that my blood pressure is too high I cut all salt/sodium rich foods from my diet. Cardio every day, no salt, I'm not taking any chances.

Why don't you start taking a basic anti hypertensive like hydrochlorothiazide? Restricting sodium is good if you are hypertensive, but for normal people it's not a concern.
