Sup /fit/faces, I suffer from several back issues and need some advice. I have a 2 herniated discs - one at the base of my neck and one mid back, as well as scoliosis.
I visited my gp and after prescribing useless medication which had absolutely no effect, he sent me to a pain management specialist who was equally useless. More presriptions followed by a cortisone shot that helped for all of 18 hours.
What kind of doctor should I visit that will actually try to do something other than try and mask my simptoms? It's been an incredibly frustraing 2 years of daily back/neck pain and stiffness.
Worst of all its seriously affecting my gainz. Pic unrelated.
How did you hurt your shit?

Went to a gaming convention and walked around with a heavy backpack for 5 days 8+ hours a day, not sure if that was the cause of my herniated discs, but that's when the pain began.
Get thee to a CrossFit gym that has a reverse hyper machine and get that shit fixed.
If someone is prescribing medication, they aren't fixing your problem.

So you want me to herniate the rest of my discs? I guess if every disc is equally herniated it would be like having a regular spine again. Brilliant!

Get a prescription for physical therapy
I had a herniated disc and im feeling p good now
Brosef, if cortisone shots aren't working you may be fucked. Get a PT referral and if PT doesn't help it get a neurosurgery referral.

Things that helped me.
>stretching
>ice
>more stretching
>good form
>core work
I heard that those super cold therapy freezer things work really well too. Also lots of decompression by either floating or inversion boards.

Reverse hyper machines pull your back apart, which is the exact opposite of what hurt your back.

Thanks y'all. Looking into all of this. Seriously the doctor I have is a dipshit, Dr.feelgood type. His answer to everything is a prescription. I have yet to be satisfied with his care. Unfortunately I'm stick with him thanks to the insurance I'm under.

Think of it this way, if someone stuck a knife in your gut, would you want the doc to prescribe pain killers, or to remove the knife?
Same shit with your back, pain killers won't fix your back, but spinal decompression exercises or spinal rom pt will fix your back.
Don't go for that big pharma bullshit.

You need surgery to repair them.
Go see a surgeon.
