What the fuck do I do when my squat just never improves but everything else does?

I squat deep, my form looks great but whenever I progress it eventually goes to shit again. The bar always feels fucking heavy on my back and I literally cant get tight in my upper back and locked in on a highbar squat. I've practiced over and over but am I doing something wrong? and my legs always feel weak/tired.

Try mad cow 5x5, I ran it and could only progress the squat on it, every set was like rpe8. It was easy as shit with fast as shit progression.

I started Cowboy Method which is basically TM.

So VDs for the first three weeks were

-10x5
-10x4
-10x3

where I'd previously only been doing 5x5 for VD, so the above represented a sharp increase in volume for me. I'm not saying you have to do Cowboy Method too, but you should start doing more work.

You're probably using the belt incorrectly? I used to have a vendetta against the belt, I thought so many bad things about it, put it on one day and realised I was just being stupid.

Try it again my man. Take some of that pressure off your lumbar spine. You don't always have to train belted, you can do both. I'd recommend you do both.

I've been doing some Leemangramming the past couple of months.
I started with a set of 15 on each lift and just added weight each session until I needed 4 sets to do 15 reps, then switched to a top set with two 5% drop sets.
It kinda felt like the 15-rep days weren't enough volume to really do anything. I don't have good rep strength (though it's getting better with this programming), so I'd end up doing a set of 15 at like 65% and then just moving on to accessory work. However, it does seem to be working, so I'm not sure if I should be changing it.
I guess my question is, "how can I make those early sessions feel more substantial without making them overbearing?"

also heads up, your spoto reps will be able to stay up a lot better than your slingshot reps. like I am still at 7-8 reps/set for spoto, and down to like 2-3 for slingshot. coach ssb confirmed for me that this is normal, so don't freak out if it happens to you too.

350 is a great benchmark that requires a decent amount of work and dedication at a "hobby-lifter" level over the course of a handful of years.

HOpefully sometime next week I will have time to do stuff beyond just main lifts and leaving.

For deadlifts, last week I did 470x3, which was a PR, and it didnt look amazing but it felt ok.

I'll probably go for 480 x 3 this friday. I still have some LP to go on that before it stalls. I'm hoping I can make it to at least 510-530 before a stall.

I anticipate it going the way you mention.

Anyone know anything about distal bicep tendon soreness? Basically soreness in my inner elbow. I've had it occasionally for quite a while, always goes away after a day or 2 and hasn't really affected lifting. Typically bringing the bar down on bench and lowering myself during chinups aggravate it a bit.

Today I dumped a front squat, must have done it poorly, because after that it got quite sore.

Also yesterday I opened a really tight jar and it kinda hurt. Typically it's worse in my left elbow

Anyway anyone know how to help this? I think it's gotten better as I've gotten stronger. Would doing lots of curls help?

I mean I realize that my noob gains and starting point were better than most people, but I hit 400 in the gym (396 in meet) in just under 25 months of training, with the first 6-8 of them training each of the big 3 literally once a week and making essentially zero progress in 6 of those months because of getting railed by work.

I don't think I'm going to. I think next week, I'm going to just do my slingshot workouts at whatever weight I hit the same number of reps as I did on spoto for the week. so like if I am spoto pressing 275 and I get 5x6, then I'll slingshot 315 because at that weight I got a similar amount of reps in when I did it, just so that they stay somewhat similar in terms of difficulty. does that mae sense or no?

you can only do what you can do, yaknow? one of the nice "built in" features with spotoshot is how you can decide however many reps you hit on a certain workout based on how you're feeling. for example, see week 5, workout 1, the last set. my left pec felt like it was going to explode, so I just stopped and didn't worry about missing reps or whatever, then came back the next couple workouts and killed it.

I dont mean to come off rude but you repeat some of this stuff, that really is just nonsense. Yes it's important to care for your joints and connective tissues. But they aren't made of scotch tape and lots of hope and prayers. The body adapts in all ways, it really is amazing.

For example my grandmother slipped and destroyed the meniscus in her left knee. Now she calls it her good knee, ten years later, because it really did heal. Physical therapist confirmed and approved. And this is a 68 year old woman who has no training history. We as humans are not made of glass.

You can trust your body, as long as you dont blatantly abuse it, it will hold.up.

Don't worry about your elbows pointing back, it's fine. Trust me I spent 2-3 months figuring out the answer to this question because I have the same issue and I came to the conclusion that elbows down is better because it's /easier/ to keep upper back tightness that way but if you can keep upper back tightness with them up, then you're fine.
