Very difficult. You have to cut/bulk through a couple seasons on a religious routine to keep your stats/macros in good order. Usually getting under 10% while having a good amount of mass and not looking like a starved twig requires you to get into the science-y side of lifting/eating.

It's physically impossible to maintain mass as you are losing weight. You have to be under maintenence cal to drop, and no matter what you have in your routine, it is impossible to make gainz or maintain, you can only reduce muscle decay by a large margin by lifting a lot. Eventually into the cut journey either you've kept enough muscle and lost enough fat to look decent enough to start bulking, or you do a shitty job at it and end up looking like skelator

A lot of it juat has to do with how mch muscle you have.
I find a lot of these images mislead newguys (this same image did to me years ago). They tend to have muscle mass go down as bldyfat goes up as if they are somehow incompatable. It is obviously for an exagerated effect.

It is pretty easy to chill at 10-12%
But aaything 7% and lower is fucking terrible. Your body starts to shut down and get depleted.

I am at the biggest uni in the USA so I have pretty good stat pop to pool from...
I have done a lot better being bigger at around 15% bodyfat because you have more physical presence. I always looked shredded, but not noticable in presence when I was 9% body fat
