This happened to me, except we had made quasi-arrangements for this past weekend on the previous weekend, and when I texted to confirm he didn't respond, and didn't show up or say anything over the weekend either. He's still not responding to any messages.

This is probably stupid as fuck but I'm worried, he's too poor for uni, and like me this is his first year out of high school, but he's just doing nothing, staying with his parents. In conversations with him over the years I can tell he doesn't really value life in general. If he sees nothing in store for him except neeting around, maybe working, maybe finding something interesting on the Internet every once in a while, and all that's just not enough to sustain his interest, he might just stoically, pragmatically cut it all off an hero.
