Pretty great exercise overall, definitely one of the most effective. What it does to your forearms, spinal erectors, traps and grip strength is amazing

Yes and no. If they're all you do, then yeah. You're not going to get massive. They're also not mandatory. But I have seen great results using basically just them and high volume weighted chins for my back.
