Anyone have persistent soft tissue injuries?

I hurt my left spinal erector squatting at least 3 months ago now (bailed a weird way). I had to take off all back-loading movements for 6 weeks or so to not reaggrivate it.

After that though everything has seemed fine but the last two weeks or so it seems to have come back. Doesn't hurt when lifting and it doesn't spasm like it used to, but its definitely been agitated with me. Hurts when I move the wrong way,etc.


Anyone have anything similar? Im not really sure how I should go about things from here. I really dont want to take another bench-only break, but I might need to, or risk making things worse.

when doing ss and squating 70kg for 3x5 i did a bodyweight squat at home and tweaked my knee so i couldn't squat for 3 weeks

i decided at one point to do 5/3/1 big but boring, the first day called for ohp with the bar for 20 reps, something popped in my back and i was paralysed and bed bound for 4 days.

i somehow trapped a nerve in my upper back and couldn't squat for 6 months.

both of my shoulders are permanantly fucked from playing cricket and are prone to sublaxations.

i had piriformis syndrome for a bit

when walking home from the shop with a bottle of milk i decided to clentch my hand really hard and hurt my forearm

I had tendonitis in my wrist from doing too many curls and chinups so i couldn't bench for 2 months

I once got drunk and jumped over a wall and fell from 1.5 meters up and landed on my knee, i was on crutches for a week

There's definitely a genetic component, if you've had your genome sequenced there are services online that you can use to look at some of them. I got mine done for funsies, pic related. Started to add pushups as a nighttime routine

I workout in the morning, but before bed i've started to do pushups.easing int it starting at 50 push ups, up to 80 today, 90 tomorrow and then 100. in sets of ten right now, then i'll add an extra rep per set until i get to 200 reps all up. just to get that upper body volume and pump before bed. as long as i'm not feeling sore the next day when i train for real it should only help my training.

I do a three day DUP with one comp lift, one paused lift, and one hypertrophy lift each day, so for example Monday is heavy squat (usually doubles), paused bench for sets of 3-4, and stiff legged deads in the 6-10 range.

The week before the meet should be light. Don't do any lifts at over 85%. Lower volume than usual.

The week before that should contain some heavy lifts, you can test your openers during that week. Heavy deadlift and squats should be done longer away from the meet than heavy benching.

Week 3-4 depends on how fatigued you are but you can take away some of the lighter sets from your routine and continue doing the heavy weight work. If you do a lot of assistance you can start dropping it here.
