Now

I tried to lift one today and I can barely lift the pole itself
>>38668043
Then start with just the pole

Go as heavy as you can manage.
In no time at all you'll blast past that
>>38668043
start light, do it every day, increase the weight, do it every day, add weight, repeat
>>38668043
What lift were you doing
>>38668112
I was done with training that day and just grabbing it from below quick just to see how heavy they are.

What was your body's orientation with respect to the floor and the bar
>>38668377
I was behind the bench and lofting it up from that stand through my bizeps

If you're doing curls I would recommend dumbel instead.
Alternating between hammerfist / horizontal while pausing under tension on the other hand is the best fucking arm work out imo, all while seated as well.
That or decline curls / preacher curls.

That's a barbell curl. Not really a lift for a beginner.
If you can do that, you can absolutely start light squats and light deadlifts. Maybe even a bench press. Just keep pushing
