russian noobs would probably be put on SS (soviet strength) by markalov rippetoe, he even said he took a lot of his programming knowledge from reading soviet literature on it. I'm sure russian athletes as beginners would definitely have just been doing some simple squat-thrice-a-week programme.

smolov is much too complex to waste on a beginner who doesn't at all need such relatively complex programming. it would suit down to the ground an elite level russian lifter who recently started making rapid progress again and might just have suddenly developed an odd resistance too injury and decrease in recovery times :^)

But you need to address your lower back first and find a solution-process.

You know, with back pain, they often become chronic. That is, you literally start imagining them.
That happens when you have something for too long.

If you think that the excessive amount of sitting that people go through nowadays is not best corrected by working on tight hip flexors then you are absolutely retarded and don't even know the most know and obvious things.

You could ask this question to anyone with a scientific background and literally every single person would tell you how beneficial stretching the hips out would be.

But sure, if you say the actual stretch does nothing and it only helps because you happen to flex the antagonist aka glutes then I guess we must believe you.

Yeah, and you work on them by instating correct bracing patterns. They get tight because they are used as a bracing tool for long hours. They dont get structurally tight, they develop a high degree of tone. Stretching itself does shit for this, they just get tight again. You have to train the glutes to brace, and the hip flexors wont pull as hard in an attempt to keep you stable.


Mobility work is necessary, but it needs to be targeted or else you're just wasting time.

To relate it back to training, you have to adapt to situations like that, dumping yourself into a big social situation when you aren't very conditioned to it can be tough to deal with. Just slowly increase your frequency and volume over time and you'll get better at it.
