Didn't make the best progress for nearly 5 months of cutting, but at least I proved to myself that I can lose the weight if I put my mind to it.

This is from ~1500cal/day for the last 2 months, before that it was like ~1600 so no huge difference. 45/35/20 Protein/Carbs/Fat Diet.
Completely cut out everything that isn't water and black coffee.

My question here is a little off-topic for this thread specifically, so I'll apologize in advance for that. I could not find any threads that really fit the question, but didn't really feel it warranted its own thread.

Is there really any way to change your mindset on exercise? I hate it. I hate everything about it. The only reason I do it is to lose weight, but it's the most boring part of my day, and I only push myself to do it because I hate the thought of gaining weight back more than I hate exercise.

I've been at it for about 2 months now, and have lost about 8 lb. So not doing as well as I could, or for that long, but still doing alright. I hated it when I began, and I hate it just as much today, possibly more.

I realize that losing weight is both mental and physical, and motivation of getting my weight down (and not having it go up again) keeps me going at it for now. I just don't see it as a long term thing I can do like people talk about on this board, doing it nearly every day (barring rest days).

TL;DR - is there any way to make exercise fun, or at the very least increase enjoyment, for someone who hates exercise?

Don't have a before pic.. but was around 92kg. Now down to 72kg but struggling to lose my gut. 6'0".

Any advice? Eating a deficit and running 3 times per week while lifting in between. Up until now i've saw results but I've just stalled and cant seem to lose any fat from my gut

My process was pretty simple. I calculated my TDEE (I used the Katch-McArdle formula), set a deficit for myself, and ate at that deficit, without taking any cheat days. I eat 1,500 calories per day (45% protein, 30% fat, and 25% carbs). I also lift heavy for ~1.5 hours every weekday. Chest on Monday, back on Tuesday, shoulders/traps on Wednesday, arms on Thursday, and legs on Friday. 5-6 exercises per body part, 5-6 sets per exercise, and 8-12 reps to failure per set. I rest on the weekend. I didn't do any cardio or take any caffeine during my cut.

Broke 200lbs at 6'1, coffee was pretty good but adding tea at night is phenomenal. The 200-300 calories of milk to skip breakfest and help curb dinner hunger is amazing.

I don't know if it makes it "fun," but I had a hard time exercising for a while.

I found just doing things one step at a time really helped. First I started walking. 2 miles a day every day. Did that for about 2 weeks, then I added an excercise 1 day a week. Did that for a week, added another.

It's slowly warming me up to enjoying it myself.

No worries, and thanks! I'm 5'11". On January 1st I weighed 247 lbs. I should be hitting my 80th pound tomorrow. I expect to weigh in at 167 (last time I weighed I was 168). My first DEXA scan was on May 18th -- I had 31.3% BF at 196 lbs. When I went in for my second scan on August 19th, I had 18.6% BF at 172 lbs. I should be somewhere around 17% BF right now.

Just started a new cutting phase. I was down to about 176 lbs (6'00" tall) from 292.5 lbs. I rebounded back up to 195-ish due to months of constant business travel forcing me to eat junk food in airports, fast food in hotels, etc. I was in France for a while, where the standard diet is bread on top of bread with a side of bread. And for dessert, here's some bread. And to make matters worse, the quality of food in Europe is declining. Even a few years ago, the food there was actually made of real food. Now, just like in the States, everything is getting loaded up with bullshit filler chemicals and artificial sweeteners like Glucose-Fructose Syrup, which is their name for High Fructose Corn Syrup. I couldn't help but notice that the French were distinctly fatter than the first time I went there five years ago.

But now I'm home and can totally control my food. Any bullshit that enters my body now is totally my own decision, and I have no one to blame but myself. So I'm back to a tight protocol of keto and IF. Last few days have been a great detox period; the nonsense has been getting purged from my system, and the brain fog is lifting.

I can't wait to see my weight moving in the correct direction again. I think 165 is totally doable, and then I can move into a clean bulk phase. My immediate goal is 185 by the end of the month. That should be pretty easy, and 175 should happen in the latter half of October.

I started counting my calories on myfitnesspal too, got from ~400 down to 350, at which point I stopped being a NEET and got a labor intensive job, from there I got down to where I am now. Since I've yet to incorporate any exercise routines into my weight loss, I can't say much other than continue counting your calories. I've lost ~130lbs so far just doing that, so never think your weightloss is limited or hindered by your inability to hit the gym.

Hope you're not restricting too much calories. If you have to eat under 1900 to lose fat then chances are, the weight is coming off from your muscle. You're doing great! Your next step should be jumping into cardio 4~5 times a week for at least 30~45mins, and with that you should be lifting weights. Eat a lot of protein, and my biggest advice to you is to not track your progress with your weight, do it with measuring tape.

Trust me with the measuring tape. It is an awesome way to measure your progress. With scale, you never really know what the heck you're losing. is it muscle? or fat.. Progress is slow, so don't sweat it. Don't rush it either. As long as you're not eating too low of a calorie you won't lose it.

i fucked up guys, got chickenpox and wasn't able to do shit for literally a month and a half, i just ate like shit the whole time because i felt like i was dying (this shit's real dangerous if you get it in you l ate 20s)

went from 330 to 260 and now i'm back to 280, started back again today eating the usual chicken, oats, veggies etc.

All through out my childhood and highschool times I was a chub. Then I became underweight anorexic. Never thought that I can get out of this. But to really succeed, making many mistakes in life helps. You learn from it. Keep doing what you're doing, and allow yourself a small cheat meal once a week deal. Your skin gets bigger and there's a limit to how much it can "snap back." There's nothing you can do about it besides surgery. If it happens, it happens. If you're noticeably fat you'll almost certainly have loose skin, just don't worry about it until you actually have the loose skin the worry about. A lot goes into it such as genetics and how slowly you lose the weight, so no one can give you a straight forward answer. thank you, i became really skinny and didn't make progress for a year just because i wasn't eating enough but now that im eating 2800 calories with lean meats and broccoli comprising of my main courses i'm making steady progress which is why i stress the nutrition aspect for the people trying to make lean body mass gains. It's not about going to either extreme end of the spectrum, it's about finding a balance and eating the right types of foods your body responds to. I noticed when i was doing iifym and eating shit my body was retaining water, my gains were minimal, and i just looked like shit overall.
