I've decided to get fit at home because gym is expensive where I am and just seems like a scam in general. I've got some dumbells, a bar bell and some mats for the floor.
What equipment should I get? I was thinking either a bench or a squat rack. Preferably something that folds away and that isn't going to fall apart after first use. around £80 is my budget.

you'll need
barbell
dumbbells
bench
squat rack
this is enough to get swole desu

>just seems like a scam in general
Correct. You stop lifting you lose gains. Therefore you should accept that you are lifting for the rest of your life if you simply intend just to maintain gains made. Therefore homegym ownership is always more economical than gym service. Even if you have to pay for visitor sessions when you move or travel.

I'm going to be on a tight budget for a while, should I prioritise the bench or the equat rack first?
I usually cheap out on stuff, but I want to make sure I get equipment that actually works. Equipment like pic related just makes me uncomfortable looking at, doesn't look secure.

That looks pretty secure at the base, try get the ones with the preacher bench as well. You can do dead lifts with dumbbells and squats with dumbbells holding them on your shoulders. The bench is the highest priority and they are always going on classifieds.

and pull up bar and gymnastic rings

Does this look enough? Says max user weight is 100kg and max weight capacity is 50kgs. That sounds a little low to me

That looks really cheapo.
You can start "scooby" style (i.e. a dozen old towels folded and stacked on the floor against a wall to make an incline) it's not like you absolutely need the bench with the weights you start with and mass you put on during the first months... if you keep with it then save up for a better bench with the leg extensions or keep an eye out on the classifieds and snap the good ones up right away.

why just not calisthenics if ur on a budget?
>>38615512
build yourself something like this. rest I bought used, spend around 200 euros all together and can go up to 120 kg.

listen here motherfucker
if you are on a budget you need to prioritise your needs
when you want to lift, you need a thing to lift and THATS ALL. All rest is just for comfort and some variety, so in order of importance
1 - weightset with a barbell!!!
2 - dumbells and or screws (or latches)
3 - adjustable bench (without accesorries or stands)
4 - adjustable stands (high enough to be able to squat from them or even do pullups on the bar)
5 - power cage if u richy and have space (guys made their from wood for example pretty cheap compared to buying one)
6 - accessories
Aim for at least 100kg of weight, this should last for some time. Also, aim for steel (no concrete plates), durable products (no empty barbells, no strange diameters). Buy used if you can, because gyms dont have to be pretty.

all those curls/leg extension machines to bench arent worth shit like you noticed, just do squats and lunges, benches with stuff like that tend to be shaky
pic related, how a good set looks like
see? its fucking massive, able to hold up to 300kg, a bench like this is going to last you for a lifetime

Hello comrade.
Have you heard of Tsatsulin?
>>38618599
This. IMO kettlebells are a better choice than dumbells for a home gym. Bar and squat rack is mandatory though.
>>38618653
If you don't go the DIY route, a squat/bar rack with a bench will only set you a couple hundred bucks... then you just gradually have to get the plates...
If you have the space, a home gym is makes total financial sense.

Is she a porn star? I hope she's a porn star.
>>38615589
You honestly don't even need the bench. It is nice, but it isn't necessary.
