do 5 sets of lat pulldowns with negative slow return, do pullups sets 3 times to failure, then do side crunches squeezing hard as fuck each time for 2 seconds, you'll get much better results without fucking your shit up.

I do them with my butt away from the bench; it it's the only excercise giving me severe doms in my core as well as my lats.
