Go all out and get Romaleos if you have wide feed or Adipowers if you have regular/narrow feet. They'll last you long enough and are the best you can get. I have a pair of Adipowers that are close to a year old and look brand new.

higher is (generally) better. there was a chinese weightlifter who had some sort of attachment on the bottom of his romaleos to make the heel even taller if i remember correctly.
