Has anyone managed to lift while avoiding the bulk/cut cycle and just eating at a very low caloric surplus, growing muscle slowly while staying lean all the time?

Yeah. I tried it this summer. Didn't really work. I still got the same 50/50 fat/muscle split.

I've been bro-splitting for five months, maintained a six pack the whole time, my muscle has been growing, slowly though, and my weight progression is very slow, like 10 kg on bench in 3 months slow, but it's growing, and so does the muscle.
I have a pathologic hatred of being fat and I can't stuff my face with food, I'm okay with slow progress.

depending on your starting point, 10 kg in 3 month on bench is pretty good
>>38474631
30 kg. It's 55 now, 5 months later.

I'm also lean af, which is very important to me.

from 30 to 40 kg in 3 month is really fucking bad. Nobody cares about your six pack when you're this small.
>>38474681
Well, everyone outside of the gym does, of both sexes, which was exactly what I was going for.
>>38474715
What is your current weight? It's literally impossible that you look good when you bench 55 kg. Exact maybe to 15 year olds.

Define "good". By /fit/ standarts I'm of course super-dyel, but I most of /fit/ is comprised of completely un-datable betas, no offense. They would need to compensate with a heroic physique for complete lack of interesting personality, exciting life experiences, basic confidence, humor and charisma. I just need a bit of a boost to what I already hate.

Virgin detected

The opposite, really.

nice b8 m8

It's not bait. I'm just sharing my experience.

I`m not talking about /fit/ standards. Nevertheless a good male physique needs some mass.
Yep. I train for performance so meme cycles are a bit useless in my particular case.

Not really. The majority of people think Brad Pitt in Fight Club is athletic. With confidence, interesting personality and charisma a person like that would be admired by anyone, while an Olympic powerlifter most people would just confuse with a fat guy. Sad but true.
Yes but I only gain about 5lbs/yr
