Still a dyel noobie, but on off days i still feel like I can go out and lift heavy. Should I be resting or is it okay to lift a little on rest days? (yes i already do cardio on rest days)
Your muscles dont grow during your workout. They grow when you rest. Baka desu

>How important are rest days for beginners?
As important as for everyone.

so i can do different muscle workouts each day?
bench on monday
OHP on tuesday and leave my chest muscles to grow
>>38448487
i also want to know
>>38448364
They're important but not that important, mainly because they aren't physically capable of doing the types of workouts that would need real rest.
>>38448408
im being schooled rn. thank you
>>38448487
bench and ohp work pretty similar muscles. when you start lifting heavier it will be hard to ohp the day after you bench and still make progress
do a full body routine like starting strength, greyskull lp or strong lifts

never really thought about this until i started dragging my two younger brothers to the gym with me, they don't seem to need as much restitution as me
>>38448487
yeah you can do that.
"bench on monday
OHP on tuesday and leave my chest muscles to grow"
is retarded though because bench trains your shoulders
>>38448759
Yeah, besides. Them working out more during that time will actually be benficial. However, the types of workouts they do can be dangerous and stunt their growth if they aren't careful.

>stunt their growth
So don't give them a hernia. It's not hard.
>Work back / shoulders
>Next day do chest db flies and literally feel aids in my shoulderblades
HOW 2 NOT MAKE HAPPEN

Don't stretch as far down, don't do decline flies.
What the fuck is back/shoulders?

You should take total rest days. Your CNS, core, and connective tissues all need rest they won't get if you're alternating workouts.
Many beginner programs even have you taking a week off every 1-2 months. At the very least you should work in light weeks.

>already do cardio on rest days
So you don't have a rest day
