Whats up guys. Not sure if anyone here can give me some help with this but here 'goes.

About a year and a half ago I fell off a three story roof and landed on my back, breaking all the ribs on my left side, collapsing my left lung, and fracturing 6 vertebrae- from my neck down to in between my shoulder blades. Thankfully I walked out of the hospital a week later and didn't require any major surgeries. About 8 months after my accident, when my spine "healed," I started noticing perpetual stiffness in the location of my spinal injury, and I have the constant urge to crack my back. I crack it about 15 times a day, maybe more, and can accomplish this by simply shifting my shoulders and sort of wriggling my spine from left to right. It's starting to really bother me and the minor discomfort is evolving to a constant dull pain. I no longer have medical insurance and can't afford to see an orthopedist or a physical therapist to help correct this problem...

My question for you is, might there be any sort of light daily exercises I can do to possibly strengthen the small muscles surrounding my vertebrae to hold them in place and relieve some of my back pain? I've had friends tell me to do dead lifts, but I'm afraid that will only exacerbate the issue or cause further injury.

Bodyweight exercises only at first. Back extensions, superman's, planks, etc. Build a good core strength before doings lifting.

Then do deadlift, upright rows, pendlay rows, shrugs, dumbell rows, and so on. Don't skip leg day might as well even your shit out.

This is to be done with extremely light weight and form is of most importance. You don't increase weight till you're absolutely confident it won't be a problem. Focus on reps vs weight. 6-8 reps for everything except deadlift.

lol is that the way American's believe socialised medicine works? You call up your GP and make an appointment, usually next day or within the week if you live somewhere smaller, sometimes even same day, or next week/week after if you live in a city, then you go to your appointment, do your thing and walk out to go home. That's it. No billing.
