Those are skins/compression pants. I've had them for years when I use to do Taekwondo. I wouldn't really call them lifting equipment more sportswear. They are meant to help keep muscles warm, improve blood circulation, wick sweat away to reduce chafing and improve recovery. But I just wear them because they are comfy to be honest. Plus it's Winter so it keeps me warm.

I know, but I don't experience this with deadlifts. If I miss a rep, I just spend about 10 minutes psyching myself up then I can hit the required reps without even needing to reduce the weight. With squats, I fail 1 pr and suddenly the rest of my workout is ruined.

It depends. My suggestion would be to do the following

60kg x5
110kg x3
140kg x1
162.5kg x1
And then either go for 180 or adjust up and down based on how that 162 felt.

The above warm up will give you the best possible chance of hitting 180kg, as it will tax you the least. The philosophy of a warm up for competition (or testing) should always be to do the minimal amount of work to prepare you for your best performance.

In training, you can do more. In testing, the bare minimum is the goal.

Ok, somewhat in line of what I've been thinking. Was mostly thinking about deadlifts that I might've been taking too small jumps, usually 10kg, which tax me too much before my 1RM attempt.

The plan for today is to just tie a previous squat PR and prepare for the next cycle, and will try it with fewer warmup lifts. Gym finally got a rack with safeties so I can go back to testing again.

When you're resting the last thing you want to do is expend mental effort, you'll just lead to pre-exhaustion. Strong athletes, when resting, don't maintain their focus and determination, they calm down as best they can and only get filled up before the set begins. If you're constantly engaged you will just tire out yourself during rest.
