It's not sad, it's just convenience.
Some people just don't care about their bodies (and rightfully so, because they have the personality and looks to afford not having a good body), and just want to be mildly fit.
This board represents the thinking of less than a fucking percent of the planet, nobody outside of it really cares about having complete, well-rounded physique.

Eat very little, do sit ups, do push ups, do some curls, run a few miles per week. Pretty easy shit.
Avoid pull ups, over head pressing, any sort of row, squatting, and deadlifts.
If you're skinny fat, eat at maintenance or a bit below, and rather than doing regular cardio, do shit like HIIT, or circuit training...
If you're just skinny, do the same, but eat a lot (as long as it's healthy... meats, beans, sweet potatoes, etc. No breads, rice, or regular potatoes).
If you're fat, same but be at a deficit - eat less.
In all three cases, you should be lifting regularly.
