What's the quickest way to strengthen my core for stabilisation in the squat and deadlift?

I'm really good at ab wheel (can do 30 reps and standing reps) but my bracing is still weak.

Planks seem hard to progress, it's more of a mental effort than a physical one. Holding a long plank isn't enjoyable and I don't see myself keeping up with doing it.

What are my options? I'm trying to get strong at bracing as my lower back is broken.

I have shitty lifting genetics. when I started I was piss weak skellington. and due to hypermobility my joints were very weak. I couldnt even bench the bar without shoulder stability issues. but I didnt let that stop me. I progressed slower than my gymbros but now I am ahead of them all. why? because I am more dedicated than them. even though I dont take lifting seriously. its just a hobby I do for fun in my scarce free time. but that's the way I am. I think I ran TM for a month and a half and I just wasn't liking it. The progress I made was very slow and I had to reduce the rep scheme to 2x3 very quickly, and I failed on the 2x3 sets after only 3 weeks of increasing ID weight by 5lbs, which is the main reason I switched to Sheiko.

I get how you feel about living in a clogged space. I keep my everything in place for the sake of feeling at home in my home.
If you haven't already you should try and make your bedroom as appropriate for sleeping as possible. The better your sleep cycle the more you're going to get out of your training. Sleeps probably the most important factor for health, recovery and mental health IMHO
Melatonin helps sleep drastically too.

Good luck though, sounds like you know what you're doing.

It was with my therapist's support. If the underlying problems aren't worked on she will regress. I came off them because they can cause disassociation from your emotions, identity and reality. I've been doing a fair bit of research on supplements, and supposedly Vit D, Fish oil and Melatonin drastically improve your quality of sleep, mood and health. Idk if that's something you wanna look into. I can vouch for fish oil and vit D being worth your time, I've been supplementing that for a very long time. No idea about melatonin, other than it makes your body's melatonin more sensitive to light, so if you lay in a completely dark room you'll find it far easier to fall asleep.

If and when you get back into training let me know, maybe with everything else going on with your life sheiko may not be the best idea? I'm not too sure, it's really beating me up a fair amount and the risk of fucking it up is high because it lasts so long.

The weekly maxing was pretty brutal, yeah. When I started having to RPE 9001 grind the last rep out every week, and these grinds were like 4 seconds, I just wasn't there mentally for the next ID.

What I kept thinking was shit, if I barely just hit 2x3 last week and it took me 4 seconds to grind the last rep, how the fuck am I supposed to do that again now with more weight?

I'm really enjoying Sheiko even if it isn't the 'best' program for me to run at the moment because I'm relatively weak. No more fear of fucking up and missing reps every Friday and I'm improving my work capacity because the most I did beforehand was just 5x5 once a week followed by 1 heavy set 4 days later.

Afaik research suggests most people are in a vitamin D deficiency, large enough to reap benefits, even people who work out in the heard most of the day. Mostly people who live near the equator seem to have enough vitamin D.

You will most likely be fine if you don't inflate your maxes what so ever desu. I've used a 10kg inflation from day 1, which is why I'm beat up on everything except bench. Bench is thriving.

I disagree ;^) It's essential for testosterone production. However I do agree that there is no strong research to suggest that being in the higher end of the natural threshold has any real or significant benefit.

HMB-FA looks promising for "natty" recovery, when and if that ever becomes commercially available.
