Something to bear in mind is that most of these athletes have almost non-existent sex lives in their regular, day-to-day existence. The stars can obviously translate their celebrity into sex, but all the others are completely unrecognizable. Their schedules are dominated by training, and their social lives tend to be filled with people they know through sport. Many sacrificed a normal childhood/adolescence for the sake of sport, so they lack the social skills and experience to meet and form bonds with new people. The Olympic athletes I've trained with have been some of the least appealing people I've ever met in my life.
