It may have something to do with the fact that 98.5% of all games today are mediocre at their very best, it might however be due to the fact that you are a moderately intelligent being and have realized the childishness and stupidity of both wasting your life away, slaving for things that don't truly exist and spending hard earned money on entertainment that is intended to satisfy those with weak minds. The whole concept of video games nowadays is alternate reality, "be a hero" seeing as you're a loser in real life. Once you actually decide to become something and face reality, the initial fascination is removed and all that remains, as is the case with most 25+ year olds cases, is nostalgic satisfaction, reliving memories.

TL;DR: Video games are time thieves and are only acceptable, if at all, for children.

Work or school and the gym fills up my week for the most part. I try to get out on the weekends but on weekends I have some free time I've been playing overwatch. It's probably the most innovative and fun game I've played in a long while and it's very easy to pick up and play for like an hour or so. I still keep up with gaming/tech news but I'm hardly a "gamer" anymore.

After I realized the CS:GO was locking me into an endless grind with a shitty community, I uninstalled it and now whenever I do play, it's small pixely adventure or arcade games that are mentally stimulating, or sometimes Elder Scrolls.

I used to play a lot of PC, like CSGO and GTA, but when I needed money and sold it I realized how insignificant it really was and have no desire to go back.

I found my gaming habits changed. I've been playing heavily since I was 2. I'm 25 now. It's a combination of growing up, working 2 jobs, balancing other hobbies, and a relationship. I find myself playing less RPGs/adventure games and more open-ended games I can jump in and out of quickly, like a few Overwatch matches, or popping in to one of my Cities: Skylines cities and growing it a bit. Seems like I can't binge on long story-driven games anymore.

I can't enjoy video games any more and I have /fit/ to blame.

Because of you guys I found better ways to spend my time through working out, focusing on my major, and attempting to have a social life (went through high school without talking to more than like 4 girls, no gf, etc.). I challenge myself to learn something new or code something everyday, I've learned to cook and be rely on myself instead of others. Hell I can bond with my dad more than I have in the past 20 years of me being alive.

I guess I just want to make it, and video games just don't fit into that equation... Thanks /fit/ for helping me prevent myself from being a failure.

I lost interest in gaming from 21 to 28.

Now for some reason I'm back into it again, just built a new PC for the first time in a decade and bought a new WoW account and Legion. For some reason I am really enjoying it.

I've achieved a lot in the last 8 years with university, at work and in the gym with my lifts and phisque, so playing games again sort of feels like a vacation reward.

I always use to think games were fucking me up but in reality is was my own old autistic behaviour.

I'm a 19 year old uni student. The only game I play anymore is osu. I play a a lot of jazz and classical music, so it's nice to have fun with some less serious j-pop and anime OPs. When I'm at school I also play smash bros and street fighter with the guys I live with because that shit is just too fun

Can't seem to find that balance and enjoy other things, I keep coming back because it's so easy to get lost in. I don't even really enjoy it. It's more like a zombie activity. Siege is a team game and my team is usually ass. I play hearthstone as well but only a few games of that and I'm done, might move exclusively to that and leave my community behind but I don't know. I can't seem to find a balance and have a real social life and play vidya occasionally... Help?
