Can you recover from a injury while cutting?

After injuring my calf 3 weeks ago, I haven't been able to squat. It doesn't hurt anymore, so I tried squatting for the first time today. I struggled with 70 fucking kilos (155lbs for you Amerifats).

I'm getting pretty fat after summer bulking. Should I just continue my cut and bulk later, or bulk right now to get my squat back up?

>pic extremely fucking related

Wrist ganglion in three places in my right wrist. I've had it for two years now, I can bench press semi efficient and dumbbell press just fine but I can't do a single push-up without falling to the floor in pain. I can get them surgically removed at the expense of a lot of my existing wrist mobility but it can return again at random. At least it doesn't constantly ache and hurt anymore.
>>
Partially fractured my shin slamming it into a bar outside of the gym. A lot of time off followed by squatting fixed it for me. I had heard that mechanical loading of the muscles will help strengthen bones, and it really worked in my case. There was a period of tenderness that would not go away until I started squatting, and now I'm 100% recovered.

Ripped off my big toe two and a half months ago.
Had a skin graft done a week ago because the wound after the amputation wouldn't close all the way.
I'm told it should heal all the way before September though,so it's gonna be close to 100 days without going to the gym ;_;

Injury: Jumpersknee (patellar tendonitis)

Fixed with HSR(heavy slow resistance training) combined with kneestrap,

did it for 1 week and noticed a huge relief, after 6 months now i still feel it when in some positions, also notice the injured knee is not as "stable" but now i can sit in cars, and cinemas.

Had the injury for about 3 years before went to the right doctor. It was ruining my life, always annoyed when seated.

Please read up on HSR if you have it and try it for a couple of weeks,

Costochondritis, makes me go pic related.

first time I got it was when absolutely busting my lungs running up a really steep hill, took a deep breath and suddenly got this pain that felt like someone's hand was squeezing my heart. Was sure I was about to collapse and die, but it went away quickly.

Went to the hospital immediately after that and had an ECG and shit, doctor just said my heart is fine and sent me on my way.

Needless to say, after that I got a pretty continuous pain that felt like an electric shock deep inside my chest whenever I bent over, stretched anything on my upper body, or breathed any deeper than normal.

It took 4 months to actually find a doctor to tell me what it was, and not just send me on my way or tell me it was anxiety or imagined pain.

Been 7 months now, been back at the gym for 2 months, ocassionally get a bit of pain but it's not nearly as bad as it was where I couldn't bench press for fear of having an episode of it and dropping the bar on my throat.

If you have very short, but incredibly painful chest pains don't worry that it's a heart problem like I did for months!

Partially tore my QL. Thought I had a kidney infection actually. My chiro/PT fixed me up. Showed me how to rehab it. Was 100% almost 1.5 months later.

Now I strained my bicep tendon where it connects up by the shoulder. Did it during heavy bench. Thought it was my front delt but buddy diagnosed me and had it fixed within 3 weeks.

My best suggestion is to get close to a doc that knows what he's doing. Especially when it comes to athletes. If you go see see a doctor and they recommend quitting lifting go see someone else.

Minor tricep tear with really bad triceps tendinitis along with it from doing skull crushers with horrid form. First Doctor told me it was tennis elbow and gave me anti-inflammatories that did nothing but made me feel terrible. He said I could keep training on the meds but once i was off them the pain was worst.

Second doctor diagnosed it properly and gave me an arm sleeve. She then told me to use heat creams like tiger balm and to not use it for 2 months before a month of physio band work. It sucked not working upper body for that long but I made a complete recovery.

Also fixed my form and now my triceps are stronger than before. Key to injuries is giving them time to heal and not working through them.

i broke my spine because my cousin pushed me down our selfmade bridge over a river for fun when we were kids. Didnt expect me to land on rocks that were underneath the water surface.

Never recovered, still in wheelchair.

Collecting social welfare and training on an upper body split 3x a week.

Life is kinda ok. Live in Germany so dont have to work and at the same time dont have to worry about being a financial burden to my family. Have my own flat and a state-provided 19 year old qt3.14 caretaker that visits me 3 times a week. Shot down my advances though. Guess i wouldnt wanna date a cripple if i was healthy either.

not exactly an injury, but I've just started going to the gym, doing Stronglifts and my lower back has been intermittently sore, nothing major but definitely not the normal, I suspect it might be my form with squats and or deadlifts but I'm not sure at all

Same situation pretty much. Go to the gym with a friend who's been going there for ages, but I think he's still pretty shit. He doesn't seem to tell me if I'm in shit form either which doesn't help.

Now my mid back hurts every time I breath in deeply from some shit deadlifts I think. Live and you learn I guess.

Fuck dude I've had horrible groin pain from an acute sharp groin injury by doing an abduction to adduction whilst standing on a ball back in January. 3 MRI's, CT Scan, X-rays show nothing. I think it's a sports hernia. Please please pleaseeee can you tell me everything about it because I'm going to the doctor again this week and I think I'm going to get surgery because xrays cts mris arent showing anything. not even osteitis pubis. PLEASE help me bro I'm trying to become a professional soccer player

I've never injured my knees but I play a shit ton of soccer, should I be wearing neoprone knee compression supports? I wear compression for my calves and my lower body like pic related that u uploaded but my knees are exposed, should I wear it for them too?

Was some teenager who snuck into the gym doing OHp with the bar right next to me squatting in a cage.

To prevent herniated disk? I suppose figure out that you don't need to lift super heavy to look aesthetic.

Stick to the 100kg and do 10-15 reps rather then the 160 for 5.

So if something stupid happens theres slightly less chance for a snap city.

If it's Nike, Under Armour, Virus, CWX, etc. etc., it's not at all the same thing. (I have the first two.). These are a lot thicker and warmer.

Ahh right. I was stretching. Like. I woke up and started stretching and I was on a rug so my foot went back a bit and it literally overstretched, yours definitely sounded like a pull which is usually really painful. they take 3-4 weeks to heal but make sure you strengthen and stretch them a lot

Injured my wrist re-racking a barbell which had some weights on it shortly after I first started lifting in 2014. Most likely fucked a ligament up and it didn't heal well.

I still get a sharp jolt of pain right if I'm not careful with my form during certain pull exercises. Feels tender for a good few hours afterwards. Not sure if it's worth having it scanned. I don't imagine there's much that can be done.
>>
I fell on my hand and had some damage to the scapholunate ligament apparently. The doc said to give it a rest for some weeks and that it wasn't severe. It sucks because it hurts when i do push ups, dips or anything that loads the wrist when it is extended so i have to work around that. I hope it goes away soon, it has been almost 3 weeks since i fell and I don't like to feel like I'm not doing the biggest effort to get fit.

am i the only one who made the experience that most physios/docs are utter shit at their job?

It took me legit 3-5 different doctors to get my injuries well diagnosed and treated. My blood fucking boils whenever i hear "well i cant find anything, better give it some rest and ice it" and then you end up with a serious problem

yes. you are 100% fucking right. you usually need 3-5 doctors to get them correct. Once you find that correct one though man - try stick with them. I've dealt with 10+ doctors who were complete cunts for this sports injury. They told me to stop playing the fucking sport that I am a professional in. Retarded

Annular concentric tear @ L5-S1

I think i got a rotator cuff weakness or tear, pic related.

Anything to fix my shoulder? My front and median deltoid hurt like hell
>>
Current shoulder impingement from bench/OHP (guess I don't have the right rom/imbalances/improper form)

Very disappointed to not be able to lift - I had really been focusing on form, for OHP I was going straight line from chest to above head, shrugging shoulders at the top

Maybe I hurt it on bench. I've also been riding a bicycle with only my right arm recently, which may have also contributed.

I'm going to go see a doc on Friday - supposedly with PT I could be back to lifting in 4-6 weeks, but I really don't want this to happen again.

For anyone ITT doing OHP/bench I recommend doing a lot of stretches/mobility training etc for your shoulders pre-work out (no static stretching) to prevent this same injury I have. I know that when I get back in the gym I will be doing them for sure

Rehband makes the warm pants. Don't know anybody else making a comparable product, though you might try wetsuit shorts. Not at all necessary but quite nice.

Knee sleeves and similar, you got:
>ace wraps. Cheapest. Supportive. Adjustable. Not that warm. Fiddly (have to wrap and unwrap)
>hookgrip knee sleeves. Kinda shit but better than nothing
>Tommy Kono. Very warm, but they tear easily
>Rehband again. Sturdy, warm, expensive. Good shit.
>SBD. most expensive. Sturdy, warm, lots of compression.

>>38249516
Bugger, I thought you meant an inguinal hernia. Going by memory (and the wiki page), "sports hernia" is more a symptom than a diagnosis, like shin splints or sciatica, yes? In which case I'd probably train on it as best I could, pain permitting. I'd do the usual things I'd do for a back injury--spinal decompression, belt up early, avoid wiggling my spine around, walk with the Prowler--and, not to repeat myself, I might also try to treat it like a minor adductor injury and wear neoprene shorts or light power briefs for a bit.

>>38253229
Check your sleep position too.
>>
>>38256249
I have been training on it for the past 3 months because they can't find anything on the MRI. It makes me dread training, it makes me play shit, and it makes me lose love for the game so I'm going to get surgery for this thing asap. thanks a lot though bro.
>>
>>38242056
This is true /fit/ autism. What is wrong with you boy?
>>
>>38257673
What surgery? Again, this is just going off what I can google, but I'm seeing that "sports hernia" basically means "chronic groin pain" and can be:
>a torn adductor
>a torn oblique/ab
>adductor tendinitis
>referred pain from a spinal injury
none of which seem particularly amenable to surgical treatment except maybe the last, but you'd know if it was that, right?

what do? the pain is subsiding, but it's annoying. even in workouts where you're not using biceps as the primary muscle, you're still using them slightly
