Fatass trying to get fit here. Would like to hear stories from people that were fat and are starting to make it. How girls and people in general treat you now compared to before. Let's get some inspiration going!
>>
>>38211957
Ultimately, I believe, what matters most is how you carry yourself.

Lose weight and shape up all you want, but happiness is probably not in the lines of your visible abdominal musculature.
>>
>>38212195
I find it true that happiness comes from within, but since it's so frequent to live in some sort of anxiety, validation from others spikes that good feeling center in our brains.
Western culture never really succeeded in internalizing that happiness shouldn't come from validation.
>>
>>38211957
Its not the same person you stupid meme monkey nigger lover
>>
>>38212228
Tell us about happiness you poor gook
>>
>>38212228
Being validated only gets you so far.
being real life /fit/ is probably not sitting by a computer discussing weightloss tricks on an anonymous message board when all the best information needed is widely available on places where people don't have the constant need to pull you down like crabs in a bucket.
>>

Sure but this isn't the point of the thread. Just wanna hear some success stories for inspiration.
Why can't you guys calm your tits

Life is 100% different. People treat you a lot more differently and you treat yourself differently too once you start to love yourself.

You are right.

Well when I stop being fat, I'll get back to you!
>>
>>38212354
The ones on the right were taken about 6 months ago. Not much has changed. Still hovering around 195-200lbs, body fat dropped a bit more around chest but nothing that is drastically noticeable, no.

here's a more recent one without any lighting or pump.

>>
>>38211957

Hey OP as someone who was fit then got unfit over the last 1.5 yr I can tell you the difference is stark. When you are fit you will get girls mirin you and a lot of them you can fuck that day or on the first date. The mirin keeps you going.

Also people in regular situations just treat you better. Like if you're in a bar or a restaurant or something and you're even in slightly above average shape, you get better service. People like having good looking people around.

Rarely some hater will try to flex on you but that's just because he has a tiny penis.

>Start to love yourself
This is a big deal. Whether losing weight to leave obesity behind or gaining to leave behind skelly, you must learn to be OKAY with yourself and consistently give yourself the love you deserve in the form of the care that your body needs. It has been a long journey getting over the self-hate.

193cm from 135kg to 85kg currently. Just started lifting 1 month ago still gonna cut down to atleast 80kg.
>>
>>38212489
About 4 years. It doesn't matter how long it took, it could of happened sooner if I didn't get complacent and fuck around for a year when I finally hit 280 and could finally shop at regular stores or when I hit 240lbs and got my first girlfriend and lost track of things and my progress slowed down (but never stopped)

I'm 25 now and have been the most consistent I've ever been since I was almost 400lbs

ObeseToBeast on Youtube lost 180lbs in about 2 years and really changed his physique I admire how consistent he was for those 2 years. It took me 4 years to lose 192lbs and him only 2 years to lose 180lbs but I think the muscle maturity between him and I are much different.
>>
>>38212464
Haha, fucking nice.
I always feel like people ignore me when I walk by and feel like girls think they are better than me even though I never said a word to them. I hope that when I stop being such a fat piece of shit and get some muscles people will take me more seriously (they eventually do when they get to know me but my fat face and body probably doesn't make me look like someone who's confident)
>>
>>38212587

how long did this take? I started at 130kg, currently at 124kg. 90kg is my goal.
>>
>>38211957
Your facial aesthetics improve drastically when you lose weight OP, it's my favorite part of losing the weight

>tfw used to have double chin and would always try to stick my jaw out so it wasn't as visible
>>
The more weight I lose the more I realize what Ive done to myself. Ive completely ruined my body and I wasted what should have been the best years of my life being a fat ugly hateful miserable fuck. Im so ashamed of myself and have so much regret. Why couldnt I have just gotten my shit together and do this 10 years ago?

yeah man thanks for the inspiration. been down from 81 kg to 70kg in one year at 173 cm. Already look normal although still not jacked. Hope to achieve it in 2.5 years
>>

Any other fatties lifting and taking supps while cutting? What kind of strength gains are you seeing? I'm taking creatine and proton shakes.

One month in

Progress:
Weight 130kg --> 124kg

They will, dude. I guarantee it.

Doing PSMF personally right now to cut off the fat I got over that 1.5 yr of being lazy and depressed. Nobody's mirin yet but I def feel better about myself and my life, and I know the mirin is coming soon.

PSMF has got me down 10 lbs in 2 weeks so far. I highly recommend. Of course, crash diet g is not for everyone so do what is best for you.

It's not happening for me brah. I think I have a naturally fat face and I'm losing weight from everywhere but face. I'm 174cm and weigh 87.5 kg right now, still fat as fuck but saw little diference even though I'm 10kg leaner. When should I be seeing the facial gains? When I reach normal BMI?

Life and how people act to me is night and day.

Before: Fat IT guy, pretty much left the hell alone, opinions discarded by cow-orkers.
After: fitter IT guy who people have no problem approaching, opinions held up as policy.

My stride is different because I'm carrying around an extra fifty pounds of gelatinous fat. I stand more upright and look like I'm more in command of the world, where before I looked like the world was beating me for my lunch money daily.

Look younger? Fuck yea.

Former fattie here, went from 105kg->85kg.

The difference is amazing, people used to really REALLY make fun of me, my response was to make fun with them, so they would laugh with me, not at me ... they were always laughing at me. Always. Nowdays they stopped, sometimes I got some kind of respect out of them without even trying. Girls do try to touch my arms. I still do have beer gut which pisses me of, but I already started to cut, hopefully that shit will go, I want abs till next summer.

Also the difference was that I have much more energy then I used to have. I'm also not that hungry anymore. I used to nap and snack and snack and nap all the time, which made me, of course, even fatter bastard. It gets easier as you go. Now I have much more energy, I don't fall asleep at work, Im more productive, got promotion due to it etc. etc. etc. Also my sweat doesn't smell like a rotting chilli con carne anymore.

The point to finally start doing something were my flatmates, they shamed me and made fun of me to no end, trolls from hell. I don't live with them anymore, but I still consider them bros. Fatshaming helped and I pass the torch, I shame my fatter friends and give'em pointers.

Ex-fats, have any of you used any machines as part of your weight loss workout? I'm a fatass that aspires to be like you and I'm trying to get some exercise equipment on the cheap and dirty. I already have a cheap elliptical that does great things and am on the market for a rowing machine.
What kind of equipment that one can keep at home has helped you guys? Also if any of you have a rower, can you offer some suggestions on these? Will any of them help me get more results out of my workout?

I am a fat right now trying to get back to normal.

Back in June for my birthday I had a terrible fucking gout attack. I'd have them years prior but this one was awful probably because I gained more weight. Was in so much pain I couldn't move eat or drink for three days straight. I decided enough was enough and I never want to suffer like that again.

For a lot of July I just decided in the meantime to cut out as much acidic shit as possible. My "diet" before the attack would be bags of Skittles, Starburst, Coke, fast food and whatever else I could shovel down my throat. Stupidly just about starved myself for a week but I feel like it helped take the levels down, then I really started considering what I ate.

At that time, I went from 330 to 325.

Something started to tick. "I can lose weight?" I thought I had given up on myself long ago. So I keep watching my food. Last week I joined a 24 hour gym and go late at night after work. It also kinda helps that I don't have too many people looking at a fatty in a gym, even though I know people don't give a shit.

I'm going to weigh myself every Sunday, keep my current and last weeks weight on the fridge and write all the weights as I go down in a little notebook. Going to keep myself motivated. Today I weighed in at 311.

So I'm not a ex-fatty. But OP I want you to know, there are others out there. We can do this shit together and don't let some faggot get in your head.
>>
>>38213677
Don't expect too much out of any program when you're losing weight. You'll make some gains but bottom of the line is that you're eating under maintenance so strength and aesthetic gains will be limited. Once you get down to a decent bf% you'll start to see real gains.
>>
>>38213671
What kind of rowing did you do? As a total noob, I see two styles of machine, one that mimics oars and another that's just a cord you pull. I'm trying to figure out which one is best. Right now I'm looking at a traditional magnetic one since I hear the hydraulics break easily on the oar style ones.
>>
>>38213707
Thank you for your answer, kind anon. I watched the video below and got all hyped and shit, but I think the guy has good genetics/lied about how long it took him. I don't think it is very realistic to expect to get like this doing SS in a period of 5 months (2 more than it took him)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyfHKjwGPmY
>>
>>38213707
What bf% should I get to start noticing these gains? 15%?
>>
>>38212277
Right nigger. Because it is important you stupid cuck
>>
>>38213753
You'll see some gains but don't trust youtube vids too much. There isn't really a guideline on how to do SS when cutting yet everyone will tell you to lift while losing weight. The way I did was to do the program like it's meant to be done, I kept doing the LP thing until I stalled after 3 resets. After that I just kept doing maintenance, a stall will come quicker when cutting so you haven't actually completed the program when in a cut.
>>
>>38213734
I used my dad's stationary rowing machine with the chain and handle. If your goal is to lose some weight I don't really think one is vastly superior to the other.
>>
>>38213803
No idea, I'm not a professional athlete or coach by any means. What I meant to say is that one shouldn't expect to shed fat and find a greek god underneath and that you'll make more gains when you can stop eating under maintenance.
>>
Figure this would be a good place to ask, how do you get rid of stretch marks?

I lost a load of weight thanks to a nice combination of intermittent fasting and adderall, now I've got some pretty bad ones on the armpit and belly. I'm guessing it's always gonna be fucked up, but is there any way to at least get the discoloration a little lighter?

Laser surgery is your only option. I used to be a fatty and hate my stretch marks.
People will treat you different when you're not a fatty anymore. People you knew from before might suddenly be more friendly or try to talk to you. I found it was much easier to meet people. Losing weight won't fix social autism though. It will make you more confident though, and that transfers to other parts of your life.

Be honest with me /fit/, will I ever make it? At my known heaviest I was ~400lbs, though I may have been higher. My current goal is to simply lose weight and get to a low BF%. I'm scared that I'll never be able to achieve an aesthetic body and I'll be doomed to live as a skinnyfat lanklet.
>>
>>38217311
Do a lot of LISS (walk 3-4 miles daily at leisurely pace) and try 16:8 intermittent fasting WHILE watching what you eat. Maintain a 300 caloric deficit.

You are on your way to making it, don't turn back round
>>
>>38217359
I bike ~3.6 miles a day to get to and from work, and work 5 hours a day around 4 days a week at a physically intensive job. I use myfitnesspal to track my caloric intake(which is how I've lost 100+lbs so far), so continuing to lose the weight isn't my concern. I'm scared of what comes after that. I'm scared my body is so fucked up that I'll never be able to look attractive shirtless/naked... Sometimes I wish I could give up my height to just be a normally proportioned homo sapien.

I've started last week.

I got motivated from seeing a 10/10 qt old school clasmate.

I did 20 minutes jogging plus walking last week.
I was demolished, I couldn't keep working out by four days because of my legs feeling like shit.

I did later another session of 10 minutes, another of 13 and last time of 15 minutes, clearly couldn't do more.

but today I was able to jog+walk for 23 minutes and felt good, even my body was able to take running and the cool thing is that my body was asking for more.

I did nothing more.

we're all going to make it.

>>38218268
try to more accurately measure out how much food you're using, like with a pb&j sandwich try to get a really good handle on how much peanut butter and jelly you use, potentially by weighing however much you usually scoop out. peanut butter and jelly is usually kind of shit tier, but try to find peanut butter and jelly with less added sugar. skipping meals makes it easier to eat too much of shit food, so try to remember that you have a meal coming up if you feel tempted to eat garbage.

Stats: 21/f/350 lbs at heaviest, last weigh-in was 313 lbs.

Last year I went from 350 to 300 in six months. I had a physical job and I would come home and not be very hungry after huffing and puffing, so I lost that weight easily. But the following month I went to my college's gym 5/7 days in the week for at least 35 minutes of intense cardio and I ate about 1300 calories a day. I started gaining the weight back. I gained back 21 lbs over 5 months before I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Also PCOS, but that attributed towards other factors, weight gain and inability to lose was hypo. I'm on four different medications, a restricted diet, and an exercise plan. I've lost 8 lbs in two weeks burning fat while building a decent amount of muscle. I love strength workouts, can't stand cardio.

I never wanted to be skinny. Of course, I absolutely hated being fat, I was miserable. But I always wanted to be big, and my body wants me to be big. My kneecaps are the size of softballs, my feet are a US size 11W men's shoe, my hands are fucking huge... I would like to get down to 200lbs, give or take, before bulking up with muscle.

Biggest tip would be to really watch your calories, and stay away from fat as much as possible. You can get a burger from a fast food place with your friends, but get it with mustard instead of mayo or ketchup, leave off the cheese, and don't eat the bun (unless you need the carbs in your diet). I run off of 1200 calories a day, 80% of it is watermelon because I'm a melon slut, and the rest are proteins. Eat clean food, and you body will reject processed. It will treat that kind of food like poison, which will make eating healthier easier.
>>
About 18 months ago I was at my peak physical condition at this point of my life.
Here's what I would do
-go running every day
-lift 4x week
-OHP 120 lbs+
-Bench 220+
Had a 6 pack and started to look buff
was getting mired and had bitches 10y younger than me jumping on my cock.

THEN a shitstorm happened
I stopped training and got on meds
the meds made me gain weight like crazy
I gained 40 lbs in the past several months
I Lost all my gains

Now I have a flabby body with some minor gyno and 90% of my wardrobe doesn't fit anymore.

How do I go back to my original fit self?
do I continue slowly losing the weight. Iv been losing 1-2 lbs here and there but im still over 200lbs.
I used to weight 165 lbs

Should I restart working out?
should I use this weight gain to make more gains and push myself?

I dont really want to go back to being that buff
most bitches said it looked fattening instead of muscular (what do they know) but in the end...it lowered my aesthetics

This.

I've gone from about 90kg down to 72kg in about 4 months, and I've gone from being a total wallflower to people expecting me to either get laid or atleast get a couple numbers while I'm out, and the difference is 100% in the mindset, feeling good about yourself physically and feeling attractive, IS attractive, women especially can see the confidence in you, you smile and laugh more, you're more open and accepting to conversation, and most importantly you actually have the balls to go for it with women rather than wait for some really obvious sign because you can't imagine she'd be interested in you.

My life has honestly changed this year, I hope anyone in this thread that's on their way to the body they want continues their journey, you are all going to make it, we all are.

Fat fuck here
>19 yo, 280~ lbs, 6'1"
About to start the journey I guess
How did you guys make it?

For me, my kryptonite is snacking at work during my lunch break, and sweet drinks.

Also the deli at safeway, jesus christ
>>
>>38220873

Snack on things like fruits and veggies instead of junk food. I eat so much sweet fruit that my drinks don't need to be sweet. I only drink water, unsweet iced tea, and occasionally skim milk, but I eat buckets of fruit.
>>
>>38220891
I've also tried low cal/no sugar water powders before, which aren't bad. The walmart brand peach tea mix only has 5 cal a serving, and each packet can make 2 quarts of tea

But this is good. What fruits do you recommend? Are dried fruits good (for you)?
>>
>>38213199
i'm a stocky fat fuck and i've been steadily getting bulkier and skinnier at the same time while losing weight.

So either i'm genetically blessed or you're wrong. Someone as scrawny as you would still make noob gains while lifting.
>>
Fat fuck here, was 360 at my heaviest, I'm 280 now. Dropping about 12lbs a month. Haven't started weight training or anything yet. I'm most worried about excess skin. I'm 31, will my stomach tighten up on its own or will I need surgery? I'm 6'2 for the record.
>>
>>38220906
Be wary of the dried fruits. They often contain a TON of sugar used for the process of dehydration.

It just kind of depends on what you like and what you can afford. If you like grapes, eat those. Apples, go for it. I get a 25 cent clementine and carry it with me if I get a craving for sweet.

If it's at work, I would stay away from overly messy fruits. Like a thing of grapes, or blueberries if you can afford them and like the taste.

I was 430 pounds at 6'2" - now I'm 230 pounds at 6'3" and it feels like I'm in a completely different world. For years I floundered, floating between 400 and 300 pounds, but last January I found that discipline that we all crave to cultivate and broke through the chains.

Do it for yourself, brother. It's not just a transformation of body that you're undergoing - you'll notice (and soon, if you put in the work) that the world around you will change in temperament, as if literally shifting hue or color. This lightening brightens your internal world, which reinforces your drive for self-improvement, which in turn lets the world around you bloom further still, elevating your confidence once more, which transmutes to motivation, etc. Thus a positive feedback loop is carefully cultivated wherein you are reborn day by day, step by step.

Know that there will be days where you backslide - forgive yourself. Do your best to dismantle the fat-logic - it's only recently that I've divested the worst of it. I'm sure you've run into it:

>You've done well on your diet for a few days so you decide to reward yourself, which then spirals out of control into a non-stop binge because "you've already fucked up, so what does it even matter"

Know that there are days and days ahead of you to enjoy life - delicious food being one of the many joys we are privy to. There's no need to pack everything you can fill your gut with into a single day - the food will be there when you're ready for it.

>You're eating something and as you near the end of your meal the thought strikes you that you want seconds.

Instead, just stop eating right then, wait a few minutes, and then satisfy that craving for seconds simply by finishing that single meal.

The most important thing about this journey is realizing that your body is just one small part of your being. Draw on your discipline to slowly expand other areas of your life - be it social circle, work, or your hobbies.

>>
>>38220961
35 6'2"
>>
>>38220951

When it comes to loose skin, that's mostly time with the rest of it being genetics.

The longer you were morbidly obese, the more damage the skin has suffered, the less it will bounce back. Further still, your skin loses vitality as you age, so as >>38220958 said someone who's losing the weight at 20 will have a better time of it then if they did it at 40.

Then there's genetics, some people have great skin, others have terrible skin. On top of that, how your fat deposits itself is going to drastically affect your situation.

Some people store most of their fat viscerally - internally around their organs. Other people store it subcutaneously, which leads to folds/flaps.

Finally, of course gaining muscle will help tremendously. Not only does it provide structure for those flap-jacks to hang off of, in the time it takes to build some serious mass your skin will retract (it takes anywhere from 1 to 2 years for it to retract as far as it's going to).

Generally speaking:
>If you're lower than 40% body fat your lose skin will hardly be noticeable after a year
>rolls will generally bounce back
>flaps or folds will always yield loose skin
>>
>>38220947

I've gained about 7-8 lbs. back in the form of muscle & some belly fat. Looking to cut the fat & keep building.

Running fucking saved my life. I run a 5k 4-5 times a week now. /fit was a huge motivator. That & my ex gf cheated on me with a swimmer, so I had that goin' for me. Started working out & drinking at the same time, dropped all the wait & began picking up randoms all the time. I get A LOT more attention now. I'm treated with much more respect.

Dude, it's just a cake pop. It's not going to kill you unless you continue to pile them in your mouth hole. It's probably like 60 calories.

1.5years to lose the weight, gained the 10 back over 3 months.

Programs: Started with generic 3x5 + low intensity cardio.

After about 6 months, went to 5/3/1, still do my own variation on it. + low intensity cardio.

Walk 1/4mile, do 100 jump ropes, walk 1/4 mile do 100 jump roaps....continue until 1200 jump ropes.

And Cron-O-Meter + fork downs.

Dropped 200lbs, bulked back up to 230.

Started the cut again today because fuck it I'll never bench 2pl8 or pull 4pl8 so I may as well go back to being able to wear proper clothes.

Should be back to 195/200 by October or so.

>>38225029

keep the body hair. Yours looks awesome.

>>38212605
How's your skin dude? Are you full blown rubber man, or did you get lucky with your slower progress compared to his?
>>

Read the tigerfitness article brother. It explains pretty much what I did. I did a low-carb keto diet with exercise for the first 100lbs and the last almost 100lbs has pretty much been all through weight lifting and lifestyle change (mainly diet but I do live a sorta normal life now)

My training has consisted of full body work outs 3 times a week and hasn't strayed from that since I'm natural and I would agree with most research that hitting a muscle 2-3 times a week is optimal for growth as a natural.

There's some loose skin around my lower belly and chest but none really on my inner-thighs (I'm probably just at or under 20% body fat at 200lbs and 6'4). Loose skin isn't really that bad since I'm 6'4 and have built an appreciable amount of muscle for the skin to attach to in most areas of my body. I doubt my chest will ever get big enough naturally that I won't have a little bit of sagging nipple but I really don't care and you won't either once you see at how wonderful your quality of life is on the other side

You're gonna have to go through hell, worse than any nightmare you've ever dreamed but in the end you know you'll be the one standing. You know what you've gotta do, so do it. Do it.

Do fat burners help?
>>
>>38228454

The ones that work are controlled substances with potentially lethal side effects.

The rest are glorified multivitamins loaded with caffeine, niacin, and B6/B12.
>>
345 -> 220lbs

Lift everyday. Feel tired and bored all the time... all I think about is what I'm going to eat next and how I wish it was bedtime.
>>
>>38228454
Only if you spend your food money on them.
>>
Hey lads, phatty here

In about two months I've dropped 340 lbs to currently 280 lbs. I eat pretty much nothing and workout for an hour everyday.

Just in these couple months, I've dropped two shirt sizes and 6 pants sizes. I feel better and now am able to workout a lot longer and a lot easier.

OP, just suffer and lose the weight. I've realized I've wasted 10 years of my life being a fat teenager. I was rejected by every girl I saw and I felt like shit daily.

I still have a long ways to go, but I know once you decide you want to lose the weight, you can drop pretty fast and pretty much start a new life

I live in an old rinky townhome.

Pull-up bars present structural problems with this rickity fucking thing.

I'd have to convince my landlord to lemmi bolt something to the beams in my basement.

And that's a whole nother pain in the ass because there's exposed fiberglass insulation padding everywhere.

I lost my first picture of me at 295ish.

This is me at around 257. Lift 5-6 days a week. The loose skin will be shitty, and the skin tags suck. One day i'll make it.
>>
>>38229465

5'10 if anyone was wondering. Not an ex fatty yet

i lived in a house that was built in the 40s and three of us were using one pull up bar, the heaviest guy was 220. the bar said it could hold up to 250. the door frame had no issues holding the bar. this is the rundown part of a very major city. so your place must be so old man. is there possibly a park nearby?
