Proficient after 10 months. Feels good
5'7, 148 lbs manlet skeleton.
10 months progress. Not following any program, not cutting or bulking - perma maintenance mode.
>bench stronger than squats
I guess at least I am consistent (4 - 5 times a week) and haven't gotten sick or snapped my shit up yet. Thought about bulking come winter, but who knows, I like lifting but eating is a fucking chore. I guess I'll remain perma-DYEL mode.
>>38160654
>bench stronger than squats
Do you actively avoid squats? I can do 220 for reps and I never even did squats before the two months I've been on SL. Here's mine btw.
I can't fucking bench for shit because of a bad shoulder. Diddly looks low but I'm making linear progress on it and haven't failed a workout yet.
>>38160654
SQUATS&OATS
just started my 3rd week of SS
>>38160814
What's so great about oats? I tried having oats for breakfast for a while but even a huge bowl leaves me hungry after about 3 hours.
>>38160816
Have you stalled on any of your lifts yet?
Let me show you my progress.
This is when I first began going to the gym.
>>38160834
nope. Im still progressing.
6'
Lifting for about 1.3 years now and my first 8 months or so I was squatting every training day. I think I'm built with more of a natural leg dominance as well.
>>38160840
After my first round of c6w.
>>38160859
After bulking to 215 and cutting back to 195.

And now, after running Sheiko for the first time.

>>38160882
That's pretty impressive, man. What program did you start out with?
>>38160882
[mirin intensifies]
>>38160882
Nice. It seems the longer people lift, the more they focus on lower body. All I care about anymore is my squat. It feels the best to train.
>>38160909
Starting Strength to be honest with you. Did some Candito's Linear program and some Candito's six week before Sheiko.
>>38160935
I'm a powerlifter, it kind of just happened that way.
>>38160802
>Do you actively avoid squats?
Pretty much. I did them consistently for some time and my 1rm went up to 202 lbs (compared to 182 lbs now, so I've actually regressed) but I've come to realize that I fucking hate doing squats. I think I'll start doing leg press or something. Chin-ups, bench and deadlift are by far my favourite excercises.
>>38160953
How old are you btw?
>>38160960
23, I'll be 24 in 2 weeks.
5'10" 175 lbs
3 years lifting

>>38160975
Ah...I hear all these people talking about how they started out at 14 and I keep worrying about whether or not I'll ever make it (20 right now). Your progress gives me great motivation, Anon. Thank you very much.

thinking about going ss to get my legs on one level with the rest
Lifting for 3.5 months now
Started deadlifting 1 week ago, been building the weight up.
am on my third full body routine
>>38161016
You're welcome fellow anon, best of luck to you!
Don't be upset if gains come slow, just keep working hard, track your progress, and stick with a program.
>>38160495
switching from 5/3/1 (which i shouldnt have done after SS) to MC or TM when I start to cut next month.
going on 8 months after coming back from an injury that knocked me out for over a year.

s-sorry guys. been off /fit/ for a while.

Haha alright. Broke my collarbone for a second time sparring judo. Landed like a fucktard off of a pretty nasty hip toss. Right after that healed I tore the fuck out of some tendons in my foot playing knockerball and I have been limping for about 2 years because of it, couldn't afford PT/MRI at the time. Getting an MRI in a few weeks.
>>38161211
Fug man I had just a minor tendon sprain a while back and it made my hips unmovable for a month. Yours sounds terrible. Also, do collarbones take a while to heal? How bad was it?
Kill me
>>38161181
oh ok.
Here's mine, my shoulders have always been shit. I've been doin overhead press twice a week now for past couple months to try and get it up but its not helping much. Maybe its my long arms, helps for deadlifts though
>>38161241
>do collarbones take a while to heal? How bad was it?
No they are kind of little bones. Both breaks healed in about 2 weeks (or at least stopped hurting). I just didn't risk lifting heavy for the full 8 weeks so as not to chance rebreaking it. My metacarpal healed in like a week when I broke it shit was weird.
I decided to finally get the MRI since its been almost 2 years, and I started losing feeling in 2 toes which is probably an omen of something awful happening so we gun find out.
>>38161268
Get on a good program, eat more, sleep more, lift more. Something tells me you're just fucking around with dumbbells in the gym.
>>38161277
Iktf man, I have a bad right shoulder and can't bench or OHP for shit.
>>38161303
as for
>How bad was it?
every bone I have broken has been a clean, full break. Everyone that bitches about them hurting real bad is a pussy unless it a compound. I have broken 5 bones, didn't notice 2, tried to sleep off the hand and collarbone cause I thought I was being a pussy.
>>38161306
Doing SS now, but admittedly fucked around for 3 months.
I've stalled pretty quickly everywhere though and somehow can't make any progress. Don't know what I'm doing wrong.
>>38161333
Two possible answers:
>Shit form
Film yourself, post in QTDDOT.
>Not eating enough
Eat more.
I was guilty of this for quite a while. Whenever I asked /fit/, everyone just told me eat more. I even did GOMAD for a month, never progressed more in my life than that month.
>>38160495
Reminder that Symmetric Strength is bullshit. All my novice level lifts suddently became intermediate once I cut down to 13% bf and I'm assuming they'll go up even more the more weight I lose.
>>38161580
you do know that the standards are based off of how much you weigh right?
>>38160495
>>38161626
just got to two years of lifting today :)
>>38161605
Which is why it's bullshit. I'm not suddently stronger just because I lost 10 pounds of fat.
>>38161655
It measures strength/pound... like any sport that has WEIGHT classes. You are stronger for your weight. Are we getting trolled or is this person actually fucking retarded?
>>38160495
This was about 1.5 months ago, and I don't feel like doing it again, after 1.5 years of lifting with 6 months of an actual diet and proper routine.
>no one man should have all this power
>inb4 your legs
>>38161655
Yes but on average 85 kg boys at the bodyfat used for test are stronger than 75 kg boys at the same bodyfat .
>>38161655
relatively you are. it means for people of that weight your lift is considered novice/intermediate/whatever
>>38161655
a 100lb person lifting 100 pounds is considered stronger than a 200lb person lifting 100 pounds. do you get it now?
I've been on and off for 2 years...injured myself early on(not permanently, but it took probably 6 months to recover fully) and idk ive been inconsistent since, and I suck at bulking. I'm young and skinny. Kinda making progress this time around for a few months, let's see if I don't stall this time.
11 months training
>>38161704
no, he is not. the guy who lifts the most weight is stronger. you wouldn't say that a 200lbs man who runs 10k in 40 minutes is faster than a 100lbs man who runs 10k in 40 minutes.
>>38160495

5'10" 175 22yrs
5'8, about a month into bulking and 2 month of lifting.
Am i doing well?
>>38160816
Damn 160 for a 5x5..
>>38164715
Also any recommendation on how to increase deadlifts and bench? Im really fucking lagging behind on that.
Pretty mediocre m8s how do I fix this
>>38162664
so what you're saying is, we shouldn't have weight classes in wrestling, boxing, olympic weightlifting, and other legitimate sports where weightclasses exist
educate yourself or remove yourself from the genepool
been lifting for just about a year and a month or so
4 months. Started out as a hungry skelly with low bf which has probably helped.
>>38160495
This site just makes me want to go back to the gym and beat whoever these percentiles of people stronger than me represent.
Also makes me feel like shit about my shitty shoulders and bench/ohp.
>chin up max was calculated off of +65 poundx10 set
About 2 years of random lifting for Track & Field 4 years ago. Got back into the gym for about 6 months now. Bought a belt two weeks ago after plateauing at 385 for squat.
Should probably just stop increasing squats until my upper body catches up.
>>38160495
This site is retarded. There is no way I could actually hit any of those 1RM. This was about 4 months back in the gym.
2 months, finally all blue. So glad I'm out of purple. 100lb bench sucked ass.
>>38161655
>being this fucking retarded
>lifting for 4 months
>still this weak
should i kill myself now or later
>>38165543
As long as you have a strong back your fine.
>>38160986
lel no ohp
>>38161241
Some collarbone breaks are worse than others. I'd have killed for a break like >>38161303
I broke mine in 3 places and dislocated it. Couldn't lift my arm at all for 2 weeks, another 3 on top of that to get it above my head. 13 weeks total before I got the green light from the doc to actually do anything again.
>How bad was it?
The pain itself wasn't that bad, just really easy to set off. Coming out of the hospital, I was probably at like a 7 or 8 /10, if i stayed perfectly still it'd go down to like a 4 but breathing, hitting random imperfections in the road, turning, etc would all shoot it back up to an ~8
