My fucking brother in law does squats and deadlifts with kettlebells and refuses to do them with a barbell.
I don't consider him part of the family.

I got up to 240 lbs with dumb bell deadlifts but where do I get the plates and barbell for deadlifting for weight? From the squat rack or from the bench? I don't want to seem like a sperg or moron but I've only been lifting for 3 months and I'm not sure.

And my gym I never see people doing barbell deadlifts so I can't understand it.

Don't take it from the bench.
There should be spare barbells somewhere. Just ask an employee where you can deadlift.
If there are no barbells anywhere just DL right next to or in the squat rack.
