at what point did /fit/ become the unhelpful, bitter board that it is today? it used to be so much more chill here.
>>38146840
the transition began about 2 years ago
>>38146840
The shitposts formed in a day. The trolls came later at a substantially accelerated rate.
Hang in there, pupper.

Always. Just gotten worse as people ditch the sinning bucket of crabs that is /r9k/b/pol/
>>38147069
Sinking* not sinning lelrlrlrllrlr
some /b/ cucks i guess
>>38146840
Based on that pic, is this a crossfit thread?
I've been here about 10 years now.
There was a good amount of fitness-related discussion going on until around the time Zyzz and other social media 'stars' began happening (everywhere, not just on fit) and memes were becoming a mainstream thing.
This board is basically bbforums users who have too much ADD for a regular forum.
>>38146840
>>38146840

When old fags like Quad left.
Its always been bad. Its just at first, the basic bitch knowledge that /fit/ has to offer seems awesome and helpful.
But once you're a bit more experienced and realise that its all bullshit and the only important thing in fitness is willpower and consistency, you start to see all the arguing and sour grapes for what it is.
Compared to other relatively busy boards, /fit/ isn't actually that bad.

I forgot his name, but remember the guy who put a towel around his face and had a super saggy ass after he lost weight?
>>38146840
I want to help that dog :(
When scooby got doxxed
>>38147596
trucrypt. never understood why he kept coming back making zero progress ever.
>>38147751
>trucrypt
Yes, that's the one.
>tfw no more daily broseph AMA threads
Feels so good man. I hope he got AIDS.
>>38147833
i think about a year after he disappeared someone posted in a CBT wearing a wolf mask or something, and some anon posted a side-by-side with an old trucrypt pic and showed the door, sink, and towel rack or some shit were the same, confirming it was Towlie (i think errybody just called him that after a
point). then he disappeared for good.
when more and more of /r9k/ decided to improve themselves but after a few weeks, they just gave up and started shit posting here instead of migrating back to their containment board. If you actually want to interact with people who lift, visit the misc or fitmisc
I browse this board since five months ago and I think it's the most useful one on the whole web. And I'm really thankifull to you all, guys.
>>38148046
All the fitness subreddits are infinitely more useful than /fit/
This place is only good for the memes and the fitness themed forever alone threads.
People who ask genuine questions are redirected to the sticky to clear the front page for more fat people hate and "how much muscles do I need to get a gf" threads.
>>38146840
It is unhelpful? A bunch of us helped the sinus guy today, I guess.
Some tripfag helped me to solve the cholesterol problem.
I have been mostly helpful and courteous here the whole time, and I have been here half a year by now, for a main board.
Giving them examine.com links.
Pasting research links to specific things.
I also kinda made it, at 7% bf and still improving elsewhere. So I have no reason to be salty.
not sure what the problems of the other guys are then.
Because newfags and redditors use it for shitposting and memes. Case in point: >>38148915
>>38148915
This is absolutely 100% correct.
If you want real discussion about fitness and health without the meme shitposting sausage-fest, check out any of the various subreddits. Seriously.
This place is good for a laugh tho.
>>38146840
ever see a fitness competition?
you try to look better by putting other people down/making them look worse
that is /fit/ in a nutshell.
>>38147993
>mfw was /fit/ years before I was /r9k/
>>38147596
rip
>>38146840
Is the coyote okay?
>>38149431
>you try to look better by putting other people down/making them look worse
Fitness is about being the best you can be, not just being an asshole.
>>38147609
agreed. that markes the decline.
