Gains aren't really important 3 miles in. It's a test between mind and body. Only the strong will prosper.
Honestly it's so nice. I wake up and run on a trail adjacent to a canal that runs near my home. I don't listen to music when I run or anything like that. I just take in the scenery, the nature, the rustling of the grasses and the chirping of the birds. The far off hum of traffic, the smell of woods. Getting lost in thought. There is only the present, there is only this run.

Are you me? Just moved and have been running by this canal

>running
>not cycling on a sweet fuckin' road bike

cycling is nice if you live in a more rural area with access to trails and clean and nice pathways
Cycling in the urban jungle is a whole fucking different game. You're practically fearing for your life every time you go out for a ride. But if i wanted to complain about cagers I would go to /n/

>kick hard as fuck
>music blasting in ears
>nothing else matters
Miss the days of running being my exclusive sport, but lifting gives me that same feel when I'm doing top sets of heavy squats
