I fkn hate the fact that normies share this. It implies that ripped guys can't be smart, which is really stupid. It's also clearly a way for lazy shits to keep some sense of worth. When a skinny dude who has never put in the work stands next to a ripped guy, it's obvious he's lazy. But you don't get that with intellect or education. So they can hide behind the idea that "I'm smart too!" to justifies their shitty choices.

Fuck I'm mad.

>>38133372
Kek. Other way round. If you read a big name book, and start saying it's awesome without actually forming an opinion on why, you're a fucking idiot. If you read a book, and disagree, but can form a coherent opinion on why you disagree, it doesn't matter who you're arguing with; you're suddenly thinking and trying to come up with reasons. I realised pretty early on that a huge amount of "modern classics" are shit that are written by people who had no clue what they were on about.

>>38133403

>>38133610
If you have hobbies then you probably don't need to worry about coming off badly in a comparison. My wording wasn't great, but I meant that it's quite clear who is bigger or more defined when two people stand side by side. It's not so easy to tell who is better read, or who is more reasonable.

>>38133768
Nah, I'm decidedly average. Just some writers like Miles Franklin and TS Eliot were very, very sheltered, but wrote about life. It really does show in their writing. Eliot was constantly bitching about lack of pop culture, because he couldn't recognize it even if it hit him in the face. Franklin didn't really "get" what it was like to be a working class person.

Both have works which are considered classics. Both are kinda annoying, and I've written essays on the topic.

For the most part, classics do become classics for being good. But there are also a lot of texts that still considered classics despite being, well, arguing a point that's kinda dumb.

Proper nutrition keeps the brain and body fit.
Exercise increases blood flow, red blood cells, oxygen intake, and prevents neurological disorders.
Reading supposedly is really good for keeping your brain strong, instead of being forced fed stimuli your brain has to recognize the meaning of every word and how it strings together. The faster you can read the more developed your recognition abilities are.
Also stimulation of your imagination shows to keep the precuneus, posterior parietal, frontoparietal, occipital and dorsolateral profrontal bridges strong. Which can help if your job requires the use of imagination quite a bit for creating original ideas.
Coincidently enough people who are addicted to porn have a weaker connection in these areas when trying to stimulate sexual response. Since they are use to being fed stimuli instead of creating it.
Puzzles, painting, music help with a few other creative senses.
Listening to music or looking at things on a walk help with recognition and memory.
Conversation is a big one that the internet age has severely crippled and is one of the leading causes of "I can't talk to girls".
A lot of us who feel more confident typing our thoughts or venting on the internet have very little social interaction when it comes to conversing with another. So we tend to feel more uncomfortable talking, and linking the other portions of our brain (recognition, memory, imagination, emotion) when we talk.
You can recover the neuron bridges somewhat, but eventually (soon after puberty if you're lucky) the bridges are set in place, you can keep them strong for many years, but eventually all connections wear down.

Develop skills while you're still young, if you want to learn guitar start now while you have a chance. It's just going to get harder as time goes on.

Man, you are so far my favorite tripfag, you are the chemfag are you not?

Also what you are describing is extremely true. I volunteered behind a 50 year old woman, as a translator for a large group and I saw a huge difference in her and in my approach.

Our generation is too comfortable with digital communication. Way too comfortable. Woe is the newest generation who is probably even less skilled at that, if that is even possible...

but are you the chemfag that I recommended examine.com? If you are, what is your opinion on dietary fat, like eggs? Healthy or not?

>>
>>38134255
I want to switch to chem for my post bachelors (kind of stuck in the working life right now, plan on going back to school in December). I'm feeling old as shit though, all I do is work and workout now.
Most of the knowledge i've gained is from reading, I have all types of books on the human condition, I highlight which areas i'm interested in and research them.

Also yes I did read some of the information on exmamine.com. I'm a huge supporter of dietary fat and it's one of the leading reasons on why you should diversify your diet as much as possible.
All fats are not equal, just like individual proteins strands. If you eat the same meals every day just because it fits your macros, you could possibly not live up to your full potential due to lacking some macronutrients.
The best example I can give is whey protein, you can live almost entirely on it from a protein standpoint.
http://www.hammernutrition.com/knowledge/protein-debate-which-protein-is-best.2897.html
However it's lacking a few strands in abundance that are found in other foods.

So let's get back to your question about eggs and dietary fat.
The problem with eggs is that if you do already have a heart condition (smoking, obesity related) eating too many eggs can be bad for you, like pork they have a tendency to spike blood pressure and keep it elevated for even hours after they are eaten.
From a nutritional standpoint though, there is little wrong with either.
Most saturated fats are medium chain fats (including those found in eggs) medium chain fats are found in a lot of different fruits.
MC fats are quick to be burned and quick to be stored if you over eat your daily calories. The positive to this is if you are planning on doing a lot of physical activity where you don't have time to eat (maybe working a double shift) you can load up on these fats and they will be the first fats pulled. Because they are so easily stored and used, these fats are the ones you want to get your energy from.
>>
>>38134556
>strength
Check.
>intelligence
Double Check.

Yeah think it's him.
>>
>>38134664
cont-
This can help you form needing to load up on carbs for energy (think keto, without doing keto diet). The process of fat to sugar also burns calories which can help you keep the weight off more.
Now medium chain fats also have a wide variety of uses, they can be used as antioxidants, lubricants, hormone conversion, the list is pretty wide and there are a lot of medium chain fats. Eggs happen to have an excellent selection of the hormone ones, but coconuts and fruits tend to have more antioxidant ones. Since these fats are first to be burned when working out, you need to make sure you eat a decent amount of them when on a cut. If you're maintaining or bulking this is when they become dangerous, because you can quickly overload your diet with them and just gain a lot of unneeded mass very quickly. By cutting them out on a bulk and switching to a "cleaner" diet you can prevent some of the fat gain on a bulk, while maintaining all of the benefits of bulking.
Short and simple
eggs good for extremely active or athletic lifestyle.
eggs bad for slow lifestyle or bulking.

The cholesterol itself is a bit of an issue, but this plays into the last portion of an active lifestyle. Cholesterol tends not to stick to the vessel walls as much in people who are active. If you stay active, you really have nothing to worry about.
If you're taking it slow and doing little physical activity (lifting a few times a week isn't enough to keep your blood pumping and your heart healthy, common myth lifters believe) the cholesterol in eggs will quickly put you over the top and into clogged artery land.
In this case eggs are best used in a variation vegetarian diet.
As in I'm eating these eggs with my rice and vegetables, which will generally make eggs the only cholesterol high food in the mix.

If you live an active lifestyle though, your body filters out the cholesterol that's bad for you as it continues to circulate and you'll piss it out.

I'll provide some links in a moment, please look for them as I post.
I am running around cleaning and I just had to pick up some fruit from the market so it's hectic. Today is my Saturday.
Also see my response to the Anon below about cholesterol and why an "active" lifestyle is important.

>>38135828
I'll get yours out of the way because it's pretty simple.
A person who performs cardio and trains muscles (either regular small amounts of SS or just doing HIIT a few times a week) is more likely to have higher testosterone than your average lifter or cardio fag.
Beyond just being genetically more talented, athletes also perform better due a mixture of this training. Football players have a high mixture of both practical, cardio, and lifting training in their regiment. Even someone who's entire purpose is cardio, still lifts for their respected muscle groups when they compete (think Mike Phelps or a cyclist) really the only people that don't benefit from weight lifting in their sport is long distance runners. It's just simple math to move more means more work.
Now I will a note that there are lifters who perform circuit training throughout the week (like body workouts through pullups, pushups, and a few weights that don't require down time between sets) that can reach their cardio needs through this. You don't have to run or swim, though small amounts of SS cardio do have their own benefit, it's not as important as getting some form of cardio. If lifting is your thing, look into circuit training or just incorporate something simple like a day or two of sprints spread out through the week.

AND HERE WE GO
http://www.nap.edu/read/11537/chapter/12#133
You absolutely 100% need some dietary fat.
Our bodies are meant to have it, people who don't intake dietary fat are more likely to fall into chronic disease or low energy levels.
This is mainly because you need some level of fat for vitamin absorption.
Here are some sources disproving the saturated fat is bad myth, with citations referenced.
http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2016/04/25/saturated-fat-finally-vindicated.aspx
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2874191/
Now the reason why we need more than just "dietary fat" is as I stated in my post earlier. Not all fats are equal, certain fatty acids absorb certain micronutrients better than others and some aid in the hormone conversions better than others.
So even if you're eating a "healthy" meal with your appropriate macros, said meal can become unhealthy if it's not diverse (see the dudes who make the pre-made broccoli/chicken lunches every single day). A diet that is roughly the same macros, but diverse in its fats is better for you. Even if it's just slightly off of the macros you're looking for.

http://www.nap.edu/read/11537/chapter/13
Cholesterol is absolutely needed for hormone conversion and a few other bodily systems.
The issue with cholesterol is finding your UL (upper limit) everyones is different, even "healthy" cholesterol becomes unhealthy in large doses.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3292202/
This one discusses eggs and their "harm".
4 eggs a day is where it generally shows to start harming people, anything less daily even with other cholesterol sources in a normal diet showed little harm.
Just remember 4 eggs guys.
If I am missing anything please let me know, i'm going to be gone for a moment.

Yea I am somewhat aware of the things for the test boosting, but I think that someone, or something suggest a useful synthesis between these many things. An optimum solution to bring all the different elements together for the best kind of body.

A chain link between exercise, between eating eggs (cholesterol helps test, but also needs to be controlled by aerobic exercise as you said above), the high test increases muscles, and the muscles also increase the test.

So a combination, an optimal solution across many different variables on our body...in different segments of it, theorized in paleo lore, from running, to chucking spears with upper body strength.

To research that gives us small hints on how we lived (in the form of reduced cancer chances perhaps)

Simply put, a natty's optimal way of life.
>>
>>38137234
Dude, jesus fuck, you are breaking consensus all on your own here. It will take some time to go through this on my own, but I shall cherish it. If its up to standards I shall use this to BTFO, dietary cholesterol lovers, and vegetarians. So thank you.

Keep your trip, I may see you another time and then comment on this.
>>
>>38137234
>4 scoops

now has become 4 eggs? but it seems like its also a bit genetically determined and of course total mass. So for natty bodybuilders 3/4 eggs are optimal?
>>
Benefits of regular exercise include increased oxygenation and capillary size in the brain. Therefore in order to get smarter you might have to be doing some sort of weightlifting or anaerobic routine.

Roughly speaking yes, the negatives however are shown that we are not meant to live to be 80 years old.
A hunter/gatherer lived a stressful life of pure beast mode. So even at the most optimal of diets for his time for moving day to day we see a lot of negatives in his diet for healthy longevity (years of life).
It really comes down to what you want, if you want to live a life of good testosterone and the benefits, you eat one way (with minor maintenance needed to keep the organs healthy). There are obviously healthier choices if you want to just live longer.
I'm going to be upfront that I hate most /fit/ discussions on diet, because there is no such thing as a perfect diet. All diets have positive and negative returns (with the exceptions of foods we know to just be poison or things like transfats that have zero benefit at all).
paleo, veganism, Mediterranean, why are they exclusive?
Use them all to reach your goals, there is zero reason you can not switch them out on a weekly basis or do one for a cut and another for a bulk.

>>38137287
It really just comes to moderation when nutrition is involved, even junk food has been proven to have little to no adverse effects as long as it isn't the sole thing you eat every single day.
That entire movie super size me is mostly meme, of course a vegan health freak is going to see negatives for eating a a super sized fast food meal every single day.
Explain the anons who eat cheese burgers for lunch or an entire pizza at dinner most nights who are in better shape than you or I will ever be in.

Good luck to you man.
>>
>>38133197
>4 packs

You count your boobs?
>>
>>38137502
No no, 4 eggs is considered bad.
Eating 1-2 eggs a day is fine and caused little elevation in ldl that working out could not fix.
Cholesterol is all about use or lose, if you're active it takes an abnormally high amount of ldl cholesterol to negatively effect you.
If you're not active even 2 eggs is too much cholesterol daily.

Eat your eggs without worry, just try to limit it to only a few eggs.
>>
>>38137596
ah yea, the living to 80 may not be a natural thing indeed. That is why perhaps this is so hard for us to make a diet that maximizes both age, and test (alongside a healthy body/mind).

I think that I just want to have as many years as possible, and also have as many years as possible while my mind performs best.

What I want is to keep making my body perform at optimal levels, for as long as possible. Nourishing the best that the body has to offer, for as long as possible.

A christfag may say that he wishes to honor the creation of god as much as he can. Well I am saying something similar. I wish to honor man, my forefathers so much that I want to optimize the gift of life for as long as I can.

Perhaps in the past, being pure beast mode was looked upon kindly, but in our modern age, being civilized, educated, smart...but also aggressive may be the new standards on how to be the best man.

Isnt than a neat way to go through life? Perhaps its not paleo, perhaps its neo paleo or something like that (though that word does not make much sense)
>>

oh and to add to that, we also have received a lot of contaminants in our lives that prevent this optimal functioning. Like sugars, candida. Many people even need to restore their gut biome.

You're probably steeped heavily in a toxic culture of queers who call themselves "type A personalities". The kind of subculture where people all swear up and down during smalltalk that they're too busy with their super special important post-graduate program even though three quarters of their time spent "studying" is really just idling on social media anyway.

Having a life outside of trying to check off boxes for the checklist of some achievement or other is verboten among such people, and you might have internalized this culture without even realizing it. Time for a reboot, senpai.

yes, I read a lot and train Jiu Jitsu 4-5 times a week. REally couldn't recommend it any higher. You learn technique after technique and think and move in ways you couldn't previously imagine. It really is amazing. You can also defend yourself/choke people out pretty efficiently pretty quickly. I've been training just 3 months and I've destroyed all my friends who I've grappled with. It's partially because if I get mount the first thing 99.9% of people do is try to bench press you off, which is an instant arm-bar.

Yeah I'm just getting into a more serious reading habit myself so when I move onto a position where I have less time flexibility that I'll be more inclined to read than to consume some random piece of media from Netflix or something.

But what I find very interesting is the parallels between a lot of the things I'm reading for less academic purposes. Like there's a huge parallel between Manson and Hagen about cultivating a true sense of self in order to engage more meaningfully with those you're interacting with, whether it's girls you're interested in, the audience or even other actors. And it also has some coincidence (although pretty superficially) with the Marcus Aurelius I just finished reading.
