- How many times a week do you guys do HIIT?
- What kind of HIIT is your favorite?
Last sunday I went to the beach with my gymbreh and we found ourselves a nice big sand dune, we measured out 50 meters and started doing sprints to the top and then jogging back.
We did about 16 of sprints to the top with some rest in between, it was really loose sand so it was very hard to do.
Now my legs feel like moms spaghetti, is doing HIIT more than once a week doable?
Thanks :)

I do sprints twice a week, longer runs 2 or 3 times a week.
Just something to keep the ticker ticking along with lifting.

This. It's non specific VO2 max training.

Non specific?
What do you mean?

How do you do more specific VO2 max training?

3-4 times a week on the rowing machine
It's doable depending on what kind of HIIT you do, I don't think I could sprint up a sand hill 16 times, even in a week.

HIIT is mostly useful for fat burning.
You only have access to 10% of your lungs. Superset HIIT sprinting with pullups and benchpresses. Both lifts opens up your chest cavity and allows you to breathe in with a full breathe.

You dont have acces to only 10% of your lungs, thats just as retarded as people claiming you only use 5% of your brain.
Those excercises would help with breathing thouhg.
I do HIIT with kettlebells after lifting. Usually 3x a week but sometimes my back isn't feeling it after deadlifts. Generally in a 30s on 15s off pattern for 15-25 intervals. On non lifting days I jump rope for maybe 30-45 minutes.
I like to alternate cause otherwise I feel like I'm destroying my body.
