Meditation is pretty great and I don't dout it would help you focus and therefore do the work but there's a point in which the physical sleepiness just overdomes you.
Good sleep hygiene is important too. Consistent bedtimes, cold dark room, no screens within an hour of bed, melatonin when necessary, benadryl when REALLY necessary.
