How should one progress with pic related? I just picked one up today and I can do the basic movement of going up and down, but it's easy and I want more of a challenge.

You can buy special ones that look a bit like a dumbbell (a wheel on each end), or you pull the handles off enough that you have a gap inbetween the wheels for your hand.
If you want to do oblique work (most extreme would probs be the rollout version of a side plank) you p much need one handed, so it's worth knowing how to set up
