Are sardines the best food?
>100 calories per can
>12g of protein per can
>6g of fat per can
>No carbs
>Costs less than $1 for a can
>Unopened cans stay good for like seven years
Seriously, I can't find a single food that's as convenient and healthy as sardines. Am I missing some kind of crazy downside to them?
sodium and cholesterol run a bit high if you eat them consistently but they're pretty great
>>38020962
Can of good Tuna has more protein.... but yea, fish is the best thing ever.
Reminiscing when I used to eat sardines for dinner
>>38020977
>sodium and cholesterol run a bit high

>275 calories
>20g fat
>25g protein
>0 carbs
Buy better sardines or learn to read
>>38023913
Eat them on some blue corn chips
>>38024056
Countdown homebrand mackerel in tomato sauce senpai.
It's an acquired taste, I won't lie. But some sirachi hot sauce makes it infinitely more bearable.
>>38024085
You have internet there now I see
How do you remove bones from sardines? They are so small and I dont want to choke on them
>not eating fish flour/fish meal
Shit is like magic, its like 80% protein and ultra cheap since it's used to feed cattle and other animals
Whatever it takes
>>38024243
at that point you should just eat some canned tuna with
>100 calories
>30g protons
>>38020962
You forgot
>omega 3s
>incredible micros
>low mercury
>tasty as shit
>can be eaten straight out the can, really convenient

>tfw can't afford sardines in canada
my diet is literally potatoes, eggs and beans and whey protein powder
>>38024243
>tfw live in a shithole where they only go up to 18 protons
At least there's tuna..
>>38020962
fish fingers are the best because they are cheap and don't taste like fish too much
>>38023913

>>38020962
They taste awful
How do I make it better?
>>38020962
Sardines are great. Mackerel is pretty great too. Lidl do these little shits in pic related with a pretty nice tomato sauce that are cheap as fuck.
>>38020962
Bad for gout, but eat cherries and drink plenty of water and you should be fine
Mackerel > Sardines
Mackerel is 45p a tin (0.6$) virtually same macros and taste better imo tbqh my doodah
>>38020962
I eat them with eggs pretty fucking cheap for the amount of protein you're getting
>>38020962
Also great source of calcium and omega-3.
Who keeps trying to sell canned fish on 4chan? Are you getting paid to do this? What are the sodium levels like in a can of sardines?
I buy mackerels but eat two cans of 300 g in the week because of the mercury levels
Also I eat sardines and beef liver to keep my protein levels up
wash the fish before eating it and that will get rid of half the sodium and chemical bullshit they have
Yeah pretty much.
>>38020962
Sardines are goat tier if you8 doin't mind the bones.
Mackerel is great too, but due to mercury you can eat it about 2-3 times a week.
Tuna is expensive and really high in mercury and lead.
Hake is goat tier with it's omega3 and 6 profile and cheap as fuck if you're in Europe (don't know about the US.)
>>38026569
>can't afford
>my diet is literally potatoes, eggs and beans and whey protein powder
>whey protein powder
A gram of protein from chicken breast is three times cheaper than a gram of it from good quality whey (even if you buy in bulk.) Add in a bit of cost for preparing it and you still can get protons twice as cheap from chicken breast than from whey.
Protein from good quality lean beef is slightly cheaper than whey still.
Eggs and milk blow whey away when it comes to cost.
The only reason to drink whey is convenience or being a skelly bitch that can't hold down real food.
The only supp that is a good idea if you're strapped for cash is a decent multi-vitamin/mineral complex. You can actually save money on that.
