Is it possible to be a great/good violinist(not prodigy tier) and muscular as well? Inb4 frank yang. Which means it's possible I guess...
Uh...
So, anyone on /fit/ play any instruments? How about classical interest?

Just use that Travis picking into a few classical pieces even some easy shit like Romanza or classical gas impresses people
If you couldn't tell I also play guitar OP
Used to play trombone in middle school lol
currently learning how to play piano
I play classical guitar (for instance I can perform Etude nÂș1 by Villa Lobos). Doesn't really have any relation with lifting weights, not an obstacle either unless you want to spend 16 hours/day practicing instruments.
Put ten thousand hours of practice into it and you will definitively become good, even very good. It's never too late even if you brain isn't as prone to plasticity as someone aged 7. Mastering it will give you lots of mental gains as well. T: music teacher

Why would you think muscle interferes with the violin? It doesn't.

honestly, probably grasping for excuses not to practice. excuses as to why im bad. i know its fine desu...
Tuba player here. I also play bass and guitar, looking to pick up cello and maybe the drums later on. I love classical/orchestral stuff, especially low brass heavy stuff like Holst.
Frank's got some chops but to call him a prodigious violinist is laughable

im not calling him prodigious. hes good but not that good.
I play harmonica if that counts for anything, haven't noticed any music skill - gains corellation yet though

it counts if you play scales

Anyone else just want to abandon lifting, abandon society, move into the mountains and just practice scales and play bach 12 hours a day?
